Movie Reviews of CasinoMovie Review: Great Movie, Great DVD Summary: 5 Stars
Casino is easily one of the best movies I have ever seen. There are plenty of other reviews that go into details on this, so I will simply say that it is a masterpiece.
This DVD edition is the best version out there, and surprisingly, it's cheaper than the Anniversary Edition (which is a "flipper", and has had some playback problems). This version plays and looks great. I highly recommend it!
Movie- 5/5
DVD- 4.5/5 (I only wish there were a few more extras.)
Movie Review: Another Scorsese Gem Summary: 5 Stars
Martin Scorsese is in the top tier of directors. Although "Casino" is not as memorable as "The Departed", "Goodfellas", and "Taxi Driver", it's still a great epic on a large scale. Scorsese, Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci team up again for third time since "Raging Bull" and it never disappoints. Pesci and Sharon Stone stand out among the cast because De Niro is amazing as usual. If you're looking for something similar to "Goodfellas", check it out.
Movie Review: Casino - the movie Summary: 5 Stars
Casino is a great movie. It is one movie that you will wish to watch over and over. Robert DiNero is perfect in his role as Nick Weinstein - he is tough and sometimes also tender. Sharon Stone plays the perfect slut-wife. Joe Pescci is a pathetic scoundrel, completely devoid of conscience and character (you don't want to meet him in an alley, or anywhere, for that matter). This movie is all-in-all among the greatest gangster movies ever made.
Movie Review: Must own Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is a must see for anyone who considers themselves a movie junkie... Lets face it, most movies that are released today come from the same monotonous formula that consists of little substance for an ever less attentive society, so if one wants to see a good film, one must dig from the past. This movie has De Niro and Pesci at one of their best performances. For anyone who enjoys the mafia theme this will not disappoint.
Movie Review: Which version is this??? Summary: 5 Stars
Casino is a masterpiece....hands down, and I don't think anyone will disagree with me on that....but is this the special edition that was released not to long ago? It states the release date as January 2006...however, it was just released on DVD about 6 months ago! I find it hard to believe this is yet another edition...can anyone shed some light on this? If you haven't seen this film, do yourself a favor and buy it.
