Movie Review: Leaving Las Vegas
Summary: 5 Stars
"Casino" is a crowning achievment on alot of different levels. The directing, the acting and the story. You feel so involved while viewing it, you get so tangled up in all the crap that ends up happening. It's an emotional investment worth the payoff. All of the performances are brilliant, especially the scenes between Sharon Stone and Robert De Niro. There was some funky energy between the 2, like they really hated eachother at times. They're fights and tirades seemed so real, I was mezmorized while watching them. When Sharon Stone finally gets confronted in the Italian restaurant, and Robert DeNiro graps her and she mutters, "I wouldn't do that if I were you", I felt the raw emotion of her performance. This role was Sharon's crowning achievemnt in film in my oppinion. This is one of my favourite films, I wish someone could make another epic drama like this again, there seems to be a shortage of good stuff like this around. ENERGY PEOPLE!Movie Review: Casino

Having not seen 'Goodfellas' to compare this to (at the point when I watched this film) I was thoroughly impressed with 'Casino'. A great deal of it is shot with De Niro doing a voice-over, telling the story as he went, which I really liked. The way a casino was run and how it all relates back to mob control was fascinating to see and the various tricks the customers and casino owners use are pretty inventive. Some parts of this film are pretty graphic, as to be expected from Scorcese, but the story overall is gripping and kept me engaged the whole time. The extras disc is excellent, with some great featurettes and bonus material to really add to your understanding of the film. This is a great gangster type movie and brilliantly directed and acted. Well worth a viewing.

Movie Review: Fall From Grace

Anytime you see that a movie is 3 hours long, you think to yourself that you are in for a long ride. Casino is such a great movie, with a terrific cast, that it's over before you know it. Watching the film makes you realize how great De Niro, Pesci and Stone are as actors. There are just many great scenes where I sat there and thought how brilliant they were. The best scenes are with the dialogue between De and Stone. It is just intersting to watch how just about one arguement can ruin everything for people and causes everyone on top to hit rock bottom. Fanastic acting, I can't say that enough because that is what makes the movie.The movie also does a great job making itself modern even though it takes place during the 70s and 80s. If you are into great films, this one of the best.Movie Review: Great Movie

Casino is a underdog for sure, it did get some awards and whatnot but it did not do as well in the public eye as say Goodfellas. But enough of that, the movie was well written and Sharon Stone was phenomenal in this true story about a real casino boss Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal, play as Sam "Ace" Rothstein (De Niro). It was Flimed in Las Vegas in front of the (now tore down)Landmark Hotel and flimed in the Riviera. The Flim was based on the Stardust Casino & Hotel(also now tore down). Some great acting all around with Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, James Woods, Alan King, and Don Rickles. Not the best, it's almost as good as Goodfellas but still a 5-Star Classic. I have seen this movie multiple times, and it is a brilliant movie. This is one of those situations where the movie is better than the book. The elements that make this movie so good is the acting, music, and perspective the viewer is given as the story is being told. This is the type of movie where you can skip to the middle of the movie and you can pick up on the story, like the movie transcends basic story telling linearity. The music blends into the story in such a way that it sets the tone of each scene. Pesci is the true genius of this movie, his character is ultimate vilan. I highly recommend this movie.
