Movie Reviews of Casino Royale [Blu-ray]Movie Review: The Best Bond Movie! Summary: 5 Stars
Quite simply, the best bond movie! Daniel Craig might go down as the best Bond ever if he continues in this vein. He is the whole package. This is the first time that I felt that Bond could kill someone with his bare hands. The action was quite nice and to top it all, the acting was first class. I am definitely waiting for the next bond film.
The movie shows how Bond became the Bond we all know. This Bond lacks all the polish that we are used to seeing and hence it was a pleasant surprise. Great way to restart the series and am sure they will continue to mould his character in the following movies.
Definitely a MUST SEE for all you movie lovers out there. 5 * out of 5!
Movie Review: Good movie, even better on blu-ray Summary: 5 Stars
The movie itself is pretty good. I'm a bit of a James Bond snob and to me Sean Connery seems like the only real bond. However, I think that Daniel Craig did a pretty good job (much better than Pierce Brosnan in my opinion). There were a lot of really weird parts, like when James ordered the champagne when he hooked up with the beauty at his hotel... Then he leaves? Sean Connery would have stayed and finished the job. If you can get past the fact that Daniel Craig isn't Sean Connery it's a good movie.
If it was only DVD, I would give the movie 4 stars. But I enjoyed the movie a lot more because of the extreme high quality of HD. I highly recommend this movie
Movie Review: Casino Royale - Good Bond flick Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is one of the best of the Bond series and rivals any of the action with a brain movies in recent years. I liked that he was sneakier and gave M a lot of trouble. Too bad he killed off (indirectly) all the good looking women, and wrecked the Aston Matin before he got to drive it much.
There were seemingly fewer times that challenged my level of suspension of disbelief than in previous Bond flicks. Perhaps the stunt men are getting better, or the CG is more seamless?
I enjoyed the blu-ray features regarding the stunts, etc.
I am still really upset about that Aston Martin...
Cheers
Movie Review: Bond on Bluray: SPECTACULAR! Summary: 5 Stars
I received Casino Royale today from Amazon via Prime shipping (so fast!). This is the first Bluray movie I have watched on my Sony KDS60A2000 projection tv. When I saw this movie in the theater last November, I thought it was one of the best Bond movies ever (Dr No, Goldfinger, For Your Eyes Only, and most of the other Sean Connery versions are the best in my opinion). Daniel Craig, to my surprise, was the best Bond since Sean Connery. Anyway, this movie on Bluray is INCREDIBLE. The clarity is such that I honestly thought I was looking directly at the ocean in the Bahama's scenes. If you like Bond and have a 1080i TV, this is a MUST have!
Movie Review: An excellent transfer Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not looking to review the movie; plenty of good reviews can be found. I'll just say it's a solid action movie that takes the best of Bond and sheds the worst excesses and eccentricities of the franchise, and is thus the best Bond movie in a long time, if not ever.
The Blu-ray edition is a flawless transfer. There's nothing at all to complain about regarding video or audio quality. I haven't watched the various bonus features so I can't comment on them. But what's important is that you get the movie theater experience, as well as your home theater can give it, at least. And that's what this disc does.
