Movie Reviews of Casino Royale [Blu-ray]

Movie Review: Bond on Blu-ray!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the reason why you own a Blu-ray player...and if you don't, you should get one. Casino Royale is not simply a great Bond movie - it is a great film!! Being a huge Pierce Brosnan fan, I was disappointed when we learned he would not be back in the role. Sure the last couple Bond films have been boring & stupid (invisible car anyone)? Surely Quentin Tarantino could have given Brosnan some decent material to work with!!
Well, not only did Daniel Craig make me forget how much I missed Brosnan, he now OWNS the role. I can't imagine anyone else playing Bond in this picture. As for the movie, it is sensational. The action scenes are intense. The acting is superb (including the lovely Eva Green). But most importantly the story is engaging. Now you can see it all in high definition on Blu-ray!! For the first time in a long time, I can't wait for the next Bond film. James Bond will be back.

Movie Review: Stunning
Summary: 5 Stars

The thing that stuck out most about Casino Royale to me above anything was the video quality. I have loved every blu-ray movie I've bought, but this one surpassed them all by a long shot in term of video quality. This is the first time I haven't doubted blu-ray, the picture is so perfect that it seems to jump off the screen at you and welcome you in to the scene. And this is with my 50" 720p tv that's about 2 years old, I can't even imagine what it looks like on a newer 1080p display. I don't have surround sound but just from my TV the audio was pretty good, I'm sure it's amazing as well if you have a theatre system. The movie itself is great as well, probably my favorite bond movie, although I'm biased towards the newer ones. It's exciting throughout, and there's always a new twist to every turn in the movie. My favorite blu-ray so far, it's def. worth the buy if you don't have it yet.

Movie Review: Top Two Bond Flick
Summary: 5 Stars

Ok this review can be approached in two ways, one the sheer pleasure of Blu-Ray, secondly, as a bond movie.

Blu-ray:
This movie is a true 1080p, and if you have an HDTV you have to get this movie. Sound quality is amazing, Picture quality is really good and not grainy. Features are interesting, you could get some with a standard DVD but Amazon Blu-Ray deals make this movie worth getting.

Movie:
This has to be one of the top Bond Movies, Daniel Craig was a perfect bond who, after Pierce Brosnan, plays a stark, and methodical bond, who express his emotions very well. He is amazing as bond, the movie was directed very well, and is not as over the top as all the 1990's bond movies.

Overall:
I definatley reccomend this movie to anyone who owns a blu-ray player or is a true bond fan.

Movie Review: BEST OF THE BEST
Summary: 5 Stars

In the series of Bond films this is the best of them all....I have seen them all multiple time s over the years and consistantly hear, Connery was the best, Roger Moore fit the title, Bronson was a perfect fit...If you go back and watch this titles again they seem all to campy and almost hard to watch in this day and age. Daniel Craig brings new life to the franchise in more was than one. Gone are the chessy lines, horrible acting and toyish gagetry. Craig portrays Bond as a a hard and no nonsense 007 the way 007 should have been in the first place. Sure the film is a bit drawn out during the gambling sequense but it more than makes up for it in the acting. Watch this film and I promise you you will not be able to sit through any of the pervious films as this one will hold you firmly in your seat from start to finish.

Movie Review: amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

I won't bore you too much with a technical review here. This is simply the best looking Bluray movie I own. Watching in 1080p, this movie is easily one of the best looking I have. My new showcase DVD along with Planet Earth.(Certain parts of Planet Earth anyway.) As far as the movie itself it is a very intelligent James Bond movie that answers alot of questions about why Bond is how he is. He makes all the rookie mistakes and is introduced to his future tradmarks (Shaken not stirred martini etc). Daniel Craig makes a great James Bond. Kinda proves that the character is not about looks but acting and Craig captures the spirit of James Bond completly. (I should also mention that it has one of the best foot chase scenes Iv'e ever seen in a movie. Almost Jackie Chan ish but without the comedy.)
