Movie Review: Casino
Summary: 5 Stars
Having not seen 'Goodfellas' to compare this to (at the point when I watched this film) I was thoroughly impressed with 'Casino'. A great deal of it is shot with De Niro doing a voice-over, telling the story as he went, which I really liked. The way a casino was run and how it all relates back to mob control was fascinating to see and the various tricks the customers and casino owners use are pretty inventive. Some parts of this film are pretty graphic, as to be expected from Scorcese, but the story overall is gripping and kept me engaged the whole time. The extras disc is excellent, with some great featurettes and bonus material to really add to your understanding of the film. This is a great gangster type movie and brilliantly directed and acted. Well worth a viewing.

Movie Review: GREAT MOVIE, GREAT BLU RAY

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE GANGSTER MOVIES, I COULD NOT WAIT FOR THIS TO COME OUT ON BLU RAY........HOWEVER I HAVE GOTTEN TWO COPYS OF THIS FINE MOVIE ON BLU RAY.........AND THEY BOTH WILL NOT PLAY PAST THE UNIVERSAL LOGO........HOPEFULLY THIS PROBLEM WILL BE RESOLVED......SOON!!!!
IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR THE PANASONIC DMP-55....
ITS THE ONLY BLU RAY MOVIE THAT TAKES ALMOST 4 MIN. TO LOAD...IN MY THE OTHER BLU RAYS I HAVE WATCHED LOAD ALMOST INSTANTLY........I HAVE NOTEIFIED PANASONIC ABOUT THIS SMALL PROBLEM
I'M HOPING THEIR WILL BE A FIRMWARE UPGRADE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM wasnt the movie.........it was my blu ray player.....once I did the firmware upgrade the movie played flawlessly.........I Highly reccomend this wonderful Review: One of Martin's BEST
Summary: 5 Stars A near flawless film. Many probably don't agree, but I do place this one, 1 notch above Goodfellas. Don't get me wrong, Goodfellas is a great film in it's own right, but for me Casino takes the cake. For a 3 hour film it passes quickly and is wholly entertaining. One of my favorite aspects is the performances. I am not a huge Sharon Stone fan, but Martin manages to get a full out dramatic performance out of her, definitely her best role in her entire film career to date. I can watch this film once a year and never get bored and I always watch from beginning to end. I believe this is his most underrated mob movies, which is unfortunate, because it is definitely my favorite.

If anyone is interested in a "Gangster Flick", this is the one to get! You can buy it before you see it because you will enjoy watching it. I love this genre of films and this has to be my favorite behind The Godfather Trilogy: The Coppola Restoration [Blu-ray]. The first time you see Ace Rothstein's salmon pink suit you will know you made the right choice in buying this blu-ray if you already have the dvd. No need to go into the story since you should know it by now.
The blu-ray really makes this movie look good, especially since there are so many bright and colorful scenes. Audio is good and Scorcese's soundtrack delivers plenty of funk and glamour.
