Movie Review: Great film that was filmed mostly in South Louisiana

Mostly filmed in Cajun Creole country in Opelousas, La. and Carencro, La. and New Mexico. This is a wonderful movie. I drove by the house in Opelousas where it was filmed and it still looks almost the same. The Big tree was struck by lightning and the other was cut down.The barn and pasture still there. The house still looks good, it was made to look beat up in the movie. Really good family comedy that will bring both tears and smiles and laughter..Movie Review: Revisiting An Old Movie Favorite

Sometimes it's revealing to go back in time, and watch a film that meant something to me years ago. Casey's Shadow is one of several I have bought and watched again. Try it. It's interesting to see if your values are still the same.
It's nice also to see Walter Matthau in a role different from the comedic characters he generally played. Buying from Amazon.com and their customers, is fast and easy.

I thoroughly enjoy this movie. The acting is seemless--as if you are watching a real family interact. Walter Matthau is a horse trainer and father. His son, Casey, is a young boy whose best friend is a foal called "Casey's Shadow." Against all odds, the two-year old horse becomes a million-dollar champion. However, the story does not end there, which is one of many reasons that this film has such depth.Movie Review: Finally a movie for Quarter Horse people
