Movie Reviews of Carol's Health BounceMovie Review: Excellent rebouding workout!!! Summary: 5 Stars
2-23-08 UPDATE - I STILL LOVE THIS WORKOUT AND USE IT 5-6 TIMES A WEEK along with walking 2-3 miles a day!!
I LOVE Carol's Health Bounce!! It's my favorite morning workout!! Even after several years, I still use it 4-5 times per week. That's a testimony all in itself! Whether you're new to rebounding or looking for a 20 minute workout boost, this DVD will be a great fit.
The Instructor: Carol Brophe is a VERY pleasant and encouraging coach. She helps you keep pace by counting reps with you and continually offers little sidelines of encouragement and/or advice. I appreciate that she's dressed simply and not out to show off a celebrity body.
The Workout: This routine starts and ends with gentle warm-up and cool down moves. These get your blood flowing and prepare you for the sections that follow, as well as cool you down before you get off the rebounder. The workout is divided into three sections, each with different moves that are repeated in that section. It takes a few times through to learn everything, but it's not hard at all, and once learned, everything flows nicely. Personally, I have found that I can intensify the workout by continuing to jog during some of the static sections, or by incorporating some moves from other workouts I've seen.
The Music: The background music is VERY tastefully done; some is instrumental, some vocal. There are no hard rock beats here or foul language. The selections are perfect in helping you to keep the rhythm and maintain a steady bounce. Personally, I'd rather have it all instrumental and no vocals, but these folks did their homework and found some truly nice accompaniments.
Other: There is a nice bit of educational information at the beginning of the recording telling you about the benefits of rebounding for things such as cleansing the lymphatic system, battling chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, etc.
All in ALL: This is a terrifically fun workout and I'm really hoping that we'll soon see Carol's Health Bounce II with everything else the same, but a step up in intensity!
One word of caution: be careful buying a trampoline from a sporting good's store. In the beginning of this video they compare the good rebounders with the less expensive and say that the latter is "like bouncing on concrete." From my personal experience, it's true. There's no comparison.
