Movie Review: Blue Suede Delight
Summary: 5 Stars
This musical tribute to the music of Carl Perkins is a delight. The people performing look as though they are having the times of their lives, and it's infectious with joy and purely happy music.
I initially bought it because it showcased George Harrison, but everyone on stage brings a performance that stands on it's own as worth viewing. Needless to say, Carl Perkins shines, and this is a fitting tribute to one of the true musical pioneers of the 20th century.
I had a smile on my face throughout the entire show, and I would bet most people react the same way.
If you love music, buy this DVD.
Movie Review: Lots of fun to watch!

I am a huge fan of both George Harrison and Eric Clapton -- not so much of a Carl Perkins fan. This DVD was fun to watch as you could see the impact that Perkins had on Harrison's style over his entire career. It is also fun to see the respect that these guys have for Perkins. All of the musicians in the set were at the top of their games for this performance. That includes Perkins. He had no problem keeping up with the younger men. The sound is not the greatest; but, you will still appreciate what you are seeing -- a great performance by some great musicians.Movie Review: Carl Perkins' Rockabilly Revival Show

I had this on VHS for years, until the tape got damaged years ago. Spying it for sale as a DVD recently, I decided to get it back to my personal collection. I recall seeing it first in 1986 as a Cinemax special. It retains it's freshness, musically, now on dvd,after all these years. One of the highlights is the return to live performance of George Harrison. Ringo also turns in a good showing with a solo. The star is Carl though, and he shows why he is one of the legends of 50s rock, and until his death, remained a talented performer.Movie Review: THE BEST OF THE BEST

What a great performance! Everybody in the show did there utmost to pay tribute to the late great Carl Perkins. Carl himself was an outstanding showman and singer and this DVD/CD proves it with out a doubt.
Suppossedly, there is a bio-pic coming out in 2009 about his life. I hope the can re-create parts of this special with dead on accuracy as some of the greatest musicans in the world were featured along with Carl.
I strongly recommend this DVD! Whether you like Carl Perkins or not, your going to like this.

What a great concert amongst wonderful friends and musicians spanning the best years of modern music! Some are now gone forever, making viewing this treasure somewhat poignant, but this is a real treat for everyone who loves rock and roll. From Carl Perkins himself to several Beatles, a guitar god, younger rockabillies and a country music legend's very talented daughter, this concert has it all talent-wise. It's upbeat, full of hits and a priceless, unrepeatable moment in time. AWESOME!!
