Movie Review: Career Opportunities - A Fun 80's sleeper with nostaligia!

As John Hughes movies go, this is as good as the best of them. Jimmy who lets everything slide off his back and models himself to be everything he isnt, is fun to watch and reminds me of all the times I wanted to pump myself up to be larger than what I was. Jennifer Connely is great, and there is a cameo by John Candy that is one of the films funniest moments. There is something about this movie that captures a piece of the eighties, and that makes it enjoyable as well. This is one of those films that get you in a good mood when you need it.Movie Review: The amazon.com reviewer needs to get his facts straight!

This is a great movie...I think I have a review here or the VHS version...anyhow, I wanted to point out, the movie is not really about Whaley's character lusting after Jennifer. It's more focused on the comedy of it all. Also..Dermot Mulroney does NOT play Connely's boyfriend, he plays the robber/murderer who breaks into Target to rob the place, and runs into Whaley and Connely! You can't write a bad review basically trashing the movie, if you clearly haven't even seen it!Movie Review: Hilarious - who knew Target could be so much fun??

This is a great movie, simply put. The acting isn't award winning, nor is the direction, but this movie works...it's funny, and the chemistry between the two leads is perfect. I have this movie taped from showtime from years ago, and I still watch it all the time. Even the parts of the movie where the guy is alone in Target, he does enough to keep the story and humor going.Movie Review: Every teenager should watch this movie!!

I bought this movie for my 17 year old son. When it first came out my husband and I were very young ( all though married already) and even though it's a little corny, to me it's a classic teenage flick. Some parts are so hysterical.
