Movie Reviews of Capricorn One

Movie Review: A Classic B Movie!
Summary: 4 Stars

What a treat - an innovative story line that makes you wonder about government power and a movie that keeps you watching to the very end (although it quickly becomes predictable). Good acting by familiar faces and the only movie in which both of Barbra Streisand's husbands (the first, Elliot Gould and the current, James Brolin) appear together in leading roles. Also, a small part for O.J. Simpson who has a couple of lines and grunts and groans the rest of the time.

Movie Review: Cool!
Summary: 4 Stars

This movie was awesome! From the cover I expected it to besci-fi, so I was pretty surprised when I watched it and it turned outto be an action movie! The whole idea of the movie was pretty awesome,a fraud space mission! The acting was pretty good also, but some ofthe movie just stretches out which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of5. But overall this is one great movie and definately worth [the money]!

Movie Review: Capricorn One/"Friends" Trivia
Summary: 4 Stars

So great that so many folks caught the significance of the climax where Streisand's first husband saves Streisand's current husband from the villains. But of course now there's another trivia connection with "Friends": in the scene where reporter Elliott Gould interviews astronaut wife Brenda Vaccaro, it's Ross & Monica Geller's Dad interviewing Joey Tribbiani's Mom!

Movie Review: Guilty pleasure from the paranoid 1970s.....
Summary: 4 Stars

It is, as many critics charge, implausible, outrageous, and even self-righteous (as a post-Watergate "expose" it reaffirms our fears that all is artiface, but "we" see through it all), but I dare anyone to say that it doesn't entertain from start to finish. And how many times can we say that O.J. Simpson actually displays his acting chops?

Movie Review: Witty, cerebral thriller
Summary: 4 Stars

This film has many excellent components that make it a highly enjoyable thriller: chases, suspense and a conspiracy! The "Orwellian" government theme, made popular in post-Watergate America dominates. Clever dialogue throughout keeps things interesting even when the plot hits a snag. For fans of Oliver Stone pictures, this one won't disappoint!
