Movie Reviews of Cadillac Records

Movie Review: every one should see this movie
Summary: 5 Stars

Cadillac Records has has been very well researched. The facts have been loosely assembled. Maybe they plan to make a sequel where they cover the life of Phil Chess. Still, Everyone who loves the Blues or has listened to Howlin Wolf, Etta James, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley and the rest will not only want a copy for themselves, they'll buy several more copies for friends.

This is a well scripted and acted depiction of a very important point in the history of music. Alan Lomax's trunk moved The Blues from the cotton fields of the South to the library of Congress. The Chess brothers brought it to your living room. You can do the same with this movie. Buy it, watch it and get up and dance!

Movie Review: AMAZING HISTORY, MUSIC AND PERFORMANCES
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this film. its amazing to find out what an important role blues music and later rock and roll had in the dissolving of segregation. It becomes so clear from this film that we have come such a long way in 50 years. The amazing musicians, Muddy Waters (brilliantly portrayed by Jeffrey Wright), Howlin' Wolf, another brilliant performance, of course Etta James played by Beyonce and Chuck Berry played by Mos Def all had their beautiful voices heard through music. i think if you care about music and American History you should not miss this film!!!

Movie Review: Great movie, for the average viewer
Summary: 5 Stars

I expected a little more drama and "in between the lines" info on the music business. Movie was very good. The idea was a good one but it did not make it very clear what happens to artists who arent business minded. Only a person who is in the music industry would understand that the artists portrayed in the film were getting taken advantage of... To everyone else it would just be an enjoyable film...

Movie Review: I loved it
Summary: 5 Stars

I have loved Adrien Brody in just about everything I've seen him in, and Cadillac Records wasn't an exception. Beyonce played the part of Etta James to perfection, and I doubt anyone else could have played Muddy Waters with such success but Jeffery Wright. Not appropriate to watch with the kids but an excellent movie for adults. Get immersed in the age of blues and the birth of rock and roll.

Movie Review: Adrian Brody could read the phonebook......
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm still surprised at how sexy not-your-typical-leading-man Adrian Brody is. I would actually push George Clooney aside to meet Adrian! So Cadillac Records was a yummy sensual feast, plus being a really good movie and representation of an era of rock-n-roll's heyday. If you like rock-n-roll history, you'll enjoy it. If you lust Adrian...you'll LOVE it!
