Movie Reviews of Cabin in the SkyMovie Review: A must have for every serious "all black cast" lovers Summary: 5 Stars
In addition to "Stormy Weather" this is one of the movies featuring all aspect of african american dances from traditional jazz steps and tap dance to Lindy Hop. The scene with Duke Ellingtons "Things aint what they used to be" is a pure classic clip. The overall digital mastering quality is brilliant. I recomend buying this DVD and dump your crappy VHS version.
Movie Review: Cabin In The Sky Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great classic. I remember watching this movie with my mother and father when I was a child. Ethel Waters - singing "Little Joe", Rochester dancing - my father use to dance the same way - it really brings back memories. Every black family should have this in their collection. Thank you Amazon for stocking this and other great classics!
Movie Review: classic musical Summary: 5 Stars
overall an excellent film, despite the racial overtones. But that is understandable when you consider the era in which this film was made. The story is timeless and the performances by the cast are wonderful. I highly recommend this underrated film to anyone, especially if you are a movie history buff like me.
Movie Review: At Long Last Summary: 5 Stars
I've been waiting for this title for years on DVD. This is one of my favourite musicals. No Doubt Warners will pull out the stops for this release. If you're never seen this movie buy it now, i guarantee you'll love it.
This is Vincentte Minelli's finest hour. Thank you Warners
Movie Review: classic movie lover Summary: 5 Stars
This is truely an example of old african american art from this country. While it may offend some as stereotyping, it is done very tastefully and I recommend to young people of today as an exanple of the best that hollywood had to off when this movie was made.
