Movie Reviews of Cabin Fever

Movie Review: 2.5 stars?!!!? I loved this movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

God, I can't believe all these negative reviews! I expected the rating to be at least 4 stars, but this is stupid!

Anyway, the movie is about these teenagers who go to a cabin on vacation. Later, a hermit barges in and tells him he has a virus that eats flesh. He goes crazy, and smashes into the teen's car. They defeat him by lighting him on fire. He stumbles into a lake and dies. His disease is spread through the lake water and into the cabin's tap! And when the teens drink the water, well, we'll see what happens!

The reason why I think people hate this movie is because they expected it to have a killer that kills the teens, not a virus! But it was refreshingly different to me. It had funny moments, and a few scary moments also. It has lots of gore, swearing, and hot girls! People these days don't have any good movie tastes. Well, FYI all you LOTR fans who hated this movie, Peter Jackson, who directed LOTR said he loved this movie!

The DVD X-tras are, a whopping 5 commentaries, 3 HILARIOUS Rotten Fruit claymation shorts [the director made 'em!], Pancakes [you'll see what it is!], Beneath the Skin: Making of Cabin Fever, a family-friendly G-rated version [which is about 30 seconds long :)], Chick-Vision [not that you pervert, it blocks the scary scenes :D], and trailers [they are on the main menu. Hilight the Lion's Gate logo].

Movie Review: Society Now-a-Days Depresses Me...
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie has got to be the most original horror movie that I've seen in a while. While it's not truely a scary one (many intentional jokes, few jump-out-of-your-seat moments), at least it's got the balls to not set up cheap make-as-many-teenage-girls-scream moments like 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' (remake) and 'Freddy Vs. Jason' did. When I viewed 'Texas,' the scares were so evident I wanted to shoot the music-video-to-movie director who ruined it. Also, this movie's got it's unpredictability going for it. Unlike other teen horror movies, this movie doesn't keep the stupid girl with the tighest shirt alive to slay the antagonist. After viewing this movie, I have the utmost respect for debut director Eli Roth and everyone else involved in making the movie. As for the bonus materials, they're funny as hell! This is a definite must-buy for any intellectual person out there. As for me, it depresses me to see that 'Texas Chainsaw' and 'Freddy v. Jason' have higher scores than this movie. But, I guess it goes to show you how many people believe that there was actually a killer like that ok 'Texas Chainsaw' (for those of you who DO think there was, his name was Ed Gein; he only killed TWO people; he was a necropheliac; he DID NOT kill people with chain saws). Hopefully that's something teens in America will learn sometime soon (I'm one who has to deal with it).

Movie Review: Best horror movie ever made? Well....no, but close.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have never reviewed anything prior to this, but I feel as if it is my civic duty to offer a rebuttal to the unwarranted slew of negative criticism that this movie has received by what appears to be the majority of Amazon reviewers. Now, I don't presume to be a movie critic by any measure of the term, but I think that there is a good reason that Peter Jackson and countless other movie critics have endorsed this movie--it is fun and absolutely riveting in the way only a well made horror flick can be. Sure it's gory, but in a much more creative and stylish manner than your typical teenage slasher. Having watched many a horror film, my response tends to be relatively impassive when a masked villain stabs some hapless teenage victim; but seeing that infected woman in the bathtub shaving her legs and crying as she took off layers of decaying flesh had me clenching my teeth, tightening the muscles in my neck, and curling my toes. I agree with the critic who asserted that "The Ring", "Wrong Turn", and "28 Days Later" are some of the better horror movies to have come out of Hollywood in a while, but I would add this one, along with "Dawn of the Dead", to the list as well. Bottom line-horror movies that are this fun and engaging are few and far between...and even fewer have a biting pancake ninja child.

Movie Review: Excellent Movie!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I thougth this movie was EXCELLENT. Most people weren't too thrilled. I will tell you what makes this movie so great:

>>>Think about it... it could really happen
if you know anything about diseases think of the Ebola Virus
>>>OK what really got me to like this movie so much..
>>>>The way they acted toward each other.. It was just so real how they turned on each other..their mannerism toward each other was so realistic.
>>>One of they girls who gets the virus first ....they throw her in a shed and lock her up and she basically rots away
>>This part I really can't type it here so I will try to use proper words.. after two of them have sex.. the guy dumps Listerine on his____well you know. Because he doesn't want to get the virus. Funny but people in a state of panic would probably do such a thing.
>>>>The one guy just leaves and takes his booze with him..he gets it in the end...loved that
>>>Shaving and the skin comes off
>>>If you watch the special features the director says that he got the idea because when he went to Irealand, he got a flesh eating virus(curable of course) and when he shaved his skin came off.
I am a horror movie fanatic and I just thought this was great all the way around. I guess there were just mixed feelings about this movie but I LOVED IT

Movie Review: Pancakes! PANCAKES! Pure Absurdity That Needs To Be Seen To Be Believed (7.5/5 Stars)
Summary: 5 Stars

Synopsis: Paul (Rider Strong), Bert (James DeBello), Karen (Jordan Ladd), Marcy (Cerina Vincent), and Jeff (Joey Kern) are college students who rent a cabin in (presumably) northern California to get away for a vacation. During their time, Bert encounters an individual who is sick with a virus. After Bert shoots at the person, the infected individual tracks down the group and ends up vomitting blood all over the place until fleeing after being ignited on fire. Unfortunately, the vomitted blood starts to infect the group as they struggle to find a way to survive. Will they live through their ordeals or will they each succumb to the mystery virus?

This film will never win an Academy Award; nor will it go down as one of the "best films ever." But seriously, if you DON'T end up laughing your butt off after watching this movie, you need to check yourself for a pulse. Sure it was branded as a horror film but man alive were there parts that my friends and I were just busting out laughing at everything that was going down. Oh, and the movie has the best ending of any other film hands down.

I recommend it for those who are age appropriate who want to find an unexpected source of dark humor in a horror film. You'll never look at pancakes the same again!
