Movie Reviews of Bye Bye BirdieMovie Review: So cutesy it made me nauseous Summary: 1 Stars
Normally I enjoy nostalgic, goofy musicals. But am I the only one who thought Ann-Margret was sickenly sweet? (Reminded me of a Carol Burnett quote: "Darling, why don't you stick your head in the punchbowl? It needs some more sugar."
The pacing was slow, and the plot was all over the place, from Ed Sullivan to a magic chemical that made turtles race around? This show was dated and painfully cutesy; I had to leave the room.
