Movie Review: Scary wake up call
Summary: 4 Stars
I remember watching this for the first time by accident while I was channel surfing and was drawn into it. It is a very powerful look at what could have happened during the cold war, and could happen today. A lot of people have said if there is another World War it would be caused by accidental circumstances or rouge elements. I really liked this movie, decent actors, good plot. This is one of my all-time favorite movies! The senario is so hauntingly real that if you've ever served on nuclear alert(as I have), and had to sit for long hours inside a cramped B-52 just waiting........you understand. Of course the Director took liberties, sitting around waiting to go doesn't make for exciting cienma.I am proud of the role I had to end the Cold War and this portrayal is about as good as it get!Movie Review: 3 stars out of 4

The Bottom Line:
The low budget nature of the TV film By Dawn's Early Light is sometimes painfully evident, but it has a number of masterful scenes (everything involving James Earl Jones and Jeffrey DeMunn) and is consistently interesting in its take on World War III: if you're into this kind of film it's well worth seeking out.
Movie Review: Fail Safe Redux

This flick was first aired as an HBO special movie. It was as riveting and conscience-raising as the original movie Fail Safe, not to mention a stellar cast, all in small but integral roles. I recommend it highly, it entertained my then pre-teen sons to the end result of taping it, and ultimately wearing the tape out. Enjoy!Movie Review: Cold War gets Hot

This movie is about the unthinkable--nuclear war. It follows the lives of key military/government figures and a bomber squad as they live through the horrors of a nuclear strike and must figure out what to do next. The cast has some really talented actors in the early part of their career.
