Movie Reviews of Bus StopMovie Review: For this Good Ol' Boy..Absolutely Hilarious!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Sure the young cowboy here may be a bit unrealistic, but in this crazy world, I would bet there are plenty like him! Talk about a goofy, cornball guy from the old cow farm, who thinks he can grab a woman like he grabs a steer. And he lassos up young Marilyn right there in the ol' bus station line. And he's a hootin and a hollerin in the rodeo, jumpin on them horsies and bulls like a one man hurricane...Marilyn is all flustered with this guy, and thinks she's got to run for the exit, cause he sure seems just a little bit rowdy, not to mention a tad pushy!..Fun in the saloon with slinky Marilyn wowin em with her "Old Black Magic", guitar strummin fun in the bus, and more fun, except for a tonic of seriousness here and there...Does this guy get Marilyn or not?! I have seen every Marilyn movie before, and missed this one till now, and have got to give it another go round, romping rodeos and cowboys and all!
Movie Review: Great Movie Summary: 5 Stars
I am a Marilyn Monroe fan and I always heard this movie had some of her best acting. I didn't think I would like this movie but it turned out to be great. Marilyn plays a diffrent character for once. Marilyn also did a great job acting as well! The main plot of this movie is about a cowboy named Bo who goes down to Phoenix for a rodeo. He meets a cafe singer named Cherie. Bo is in love with Cherie but she isn't in love with him. So she tries to escape to Los Angeles but he finds her and forces her to ride back with him to his home in Montana. On the way to Montana they stop at a diner and it turns out that the road ahead is blocked due to a snowstorm. I'm not going to tell the rest of the movie. This is a really good movie!
Movie Review: "Depot Dillema" Summary: 5 Stars
It is too bad Don Murry did not get an acadamy award for this picture. He nails his character as a whiney, lovesick cowboy. The real treat in watching the picture is getting to see a very young Marylin Monroe doing splendidly as she emerges as a very fine dramatic actress. Time has shown how really great she was at her craft. There never has been nor never will be anything like her--mountains of imitators, some spending millions to advance their own careers have not come close. Some of her talent was natural and some of it learned by "the Method." Her timing is exquisite. The movie is a great record of a period marked by method acting and it displays examples of the best.
Movie Review: Bus Stop Summary: 5 Stars
The story is corny, but that's what makes it so funny. Marilyn over plays the character as a lot of little things happen around her that aren't really part of the story, but would be typical in a similar situation; like for example when Marilyn is trying to change clothes in the bus full of sleeping passenger. She contends with the little boy who is set to watch by placing her hand on the top of his head and turning it to the side. At the time the bus driver almost runs off the road and turns the bus over trying to get a peek too. Marilyn is just too perfect at being Marilyn!
Movie Review: Marilyn as Cheris is Perfect - In more ways Than One Summary: 5 Stars
I just love this film. Marilyn is picture perfect as Cheri and she has never looked, acted, or been more appealing than in this film. He has excelllent support from Arthur O' Connell and especially from Eileen Heckart. Don Murray, as the male lead, is ok. 5 Stars
