Movie Reviews of Burn Notice: Season OneMovie Review: Love It Summary: 5 Stars
The off major networks seem to have been doing a very good job the last few years giving us some shows that are well worth watching, Monk, Damages, The Shield and others. Burn Notice is one of those shows you should watch.
It revolves around a former US agent, played by Jeffrey Donovan, who is no longer needed by the government and is summarily dumped (burned in the spy business) and then starts doing PI type work while trying to figure out what happened and why.
A combination of mystery/spy with a bit of humor also thrown in makes this show very enjoyable, much in the way that Monk is enjoyable. A bit of a throwback to some other older shows you may catch from time-to-time where there is enough things to make you smile along the spy/cop way.
Movie Review: Great, original show from USA Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great show with a great cast, and it immediately can count itself amongst USA network classics like Monk and MacGyver. A funny, down to earth intelligence officer/agent has been "burned" by his handlers (declared unreliable) and is confined to Miami where he must work under the table as an "investigator" while he figures out his situation. Its not really that deep or ground breaking, but it works as an original series.
Caveat, I saw this at the store for 39.99, regular price. That is too high, don't pay more than what is advertised here. Show is great, but you only get 11 42 minute episodes and the video quality is mediocre at best. 25.99 is a fair price.
Movie Review: best show on television Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best show on television. Period. It's funny, it's sexy, it's full of espionage and intrigue, and the characters completely grab your attention. Each episode is action-packed, and I love the narrative by the main character, explaining little bits and pieces of the spycraft. And, of course, the best part of the show has to be Gabrielle Anwar. Is this the most beautiful woman in Hollywood, or what? It is impossible to take your eyes off of her. This is an exceptional series, all the way around. I've been waiting for the first season to be released on disc, and will be one of the first in line to grab a copy. Do yourself a favor and get into this show.
Movie Review: Awesome!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great series. My wife and I have been hooked since day one. And Season 1 is a great start. There isn't any lag or backstory build up.
This reminds me of the A-Team and McGuyver.
The Main character, and Ex-CIA Op, and his team are a group of do-gooders, helping those in dire need. While they are helping their client of the day there is a well plotted back story of Michael trying to find the person or people who burned him, and why. This goes on for quite awhile but is not overdone in any way.
The characters are witty and charming, as well as talented.
A++ from me.
Movie Review: Burn baby Burn Summary: 5 Stars
What can I say that hasn't already been said...loved this series. Bought it because it went on sale for $13 and couldn't be more pleased. It's entertaining with a great story line and fantastic characters. Big fan of Bruce and was excited to see him back in a series. Not sure what I think of the younger brother, but he does add some interesting scenarios.
If you've wanted a show that makes you laugh and think (not slapstick, but good wit) with a bit of excitement then you really can't go wrong with this...not only that, you'll probably actually watch it over again, which I can't say about some shows I've bought.
