Movie Reviews of Bug (Special Edition)Movie Review: Intense Summary: 5 Stars
Hey so I thought I was getting a silly horror movie by the box in the rental store but obviously got something other than that! I can roll w/ the punches and have to say that overall I was impressed. Another reviewer didn't get it when they stated that the explanation didn't make sense-Duh- it wasn't supposed to! If it did then you would have to have your head examined. Its the state of the characters paranoia and how their madness makes all seem like a plot against them. Its a gradual build to the climax w/ some excellent acting done by Ashley Judd. The Gentleman in the film is quite good also and had apparently done the off b'way play for many years. I can't believe so many one star reviews so I gotta offset by giving it the maximum. Its probably worth 4 anyway IMHO.
Movie Review: Hilarious, terrifying, compelling - a knockout! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie isn't for the faint of heart for two reasons. First, there are scenes of an unbelievable, savage violence, one of a kind you won't see anywhere else. But, where the movie really gets under your skin is that it just seems so true, so possible, so reminiscent of things you and I have done often and are possibly doing this very moment. In fact, I feel this movie poses the question of the "human problem" better and more profoundly than any other piece of art I've ever seen, including those that claim to be of the spiritual kind. Then again, if someone wants a movie that will serve as a temporary escape from reality, I don't recommend Bug. Watching this movie was a major learning experience for me, and I hope many others can share it as well.
Movie Review: I AM THE MOTHER BUG! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a professional horror flick. It starts off with the background of the characters then it spirals outward into a horrific nightmare. Ashley Judd goes from not exactly level headed, but sane, to completely insane in the snap of a finger. Once the tension starts it doesn't let up and by the time Ashley screams, "I AM THE MOTHER BUG," I realized that the story wasn't going to have a pleasent ending. At times I felt my jaw had dropped while watching this and for a moment I stopped breathing during the unforgettiable climax. Still, I'm debating was there actually a bug that got transmitted through sex, or were both people paranoid skitzos?
Movie Review: Can someone help me with a small question? Summary: 5 Stars
I've just watched "Bug" for the second time. I think it's a fascinating movie, hugely ambiguous, but
enthralling. Ashley Judd hits the bullseye everytime she makes a move or opens her mouth, and should
easily have been nominated. (I see that the reviewers here are all over the place. Don't you find that when
a film is truly innovative it splits opinion into smithereens? I believe that's so).
My question: what in the world was that quick shot, after the movie was over, of the room filled with
a child's toys, and a telephone ringing in the background? I hope someone smart can help me out.
Movie Review: Very Intense psychological thriller! Summary: 5 Stars
Call me strange, but this movie is awesome. You either get it or you don't. Good horror films should be more than just fake thrills, as this movie is not about giant bugs attacking people. It's really about the intense powers of the human mind. The acting was absolutely outstanding for portraying people's frailty of sucumming to paranoia! Again, this is not a horror film about bugs, but rather a roller coaster ride into the realms of psychological horror! After seeing this movie I have some serious respect for the incredible powers of our mind, and fear of the demons that can reside in there controlling us.
