Movie Reviews of Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers: Three Nights on the Town

Movie Review: THIS is the one!
Summary: 5 Stars

Whenever you want to leave your skeptical friends, loved ones, and/or neighbors awash in their own drool from that familiar slack-jawed look of "Wow...I had no idea..." you show them this dvd.

"Three Nights On The Town" is near perfect, and almost a gift -- behind the scenes goodies, tunes from the Blue Note shows, footage from the next night's solo performance, and then the actual Town Hall show. The kicker is that this show, while good, is far from the best of Hornsby's 2004 "Halcyon Days" tour. (Go to Munck Music to download some of those aural ticklers.)

Really, if you thought that "Hornsby and Friends" was good, you'll be blown away by "Three Nights." And if you've never been exposed to the Hornsbyitis, THIS is where to start.

Movie Review: Great Live Concert!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking for a Bruce Hornsby dvd and after reading reviews on what was available I decided to take a chance on this one. Glad I did as this was a great show with a killer band! I've always liked Bruce and was hooked from the first album and bought the second cd when it came out. But for whatever reason I didn't keep up with him after that. This dvd exposed me to alot of great music that I've missed over the years and so I had to go purchase several cd's of Bruce Hornsby that I didn't have. The sound and picture are great on my surround sound system. If your a Bruce Hornsby fan you'll not be disappointed and if you aren't familiar with his music then it is a great place to start.

Movie Review: Just brilliant
Summary: 5 Stars

Have to agree with everything said so far, this DVD is amazing. The band is really on fire, but the real gem as noted before is the "Fortunate Son/Comfortably Numb" track....can't really come up with any words to describe how beautiful it is to see/hear, it's putting me in danger of wearing out the rewind button of my DVD remote. The documentary footage is good also with a really cool behind the scenes feel especially when Bruce is practicing at the Steinway headquarters. I highly recommend this to any fan of good music. The only thing missing is "Lost Soul" which he did on the tour last year as well, but that's OK by me.

Movie Review: Good job Bruce!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'll have to admit that I wasn't sure what to expect from this concert but was totally pleased with the show. I have about 40 DVD concerts and am a soundman and musician so musicianship and audio quality is very important to me. I'll have to say that I was impressed with both on this DVD. The 5.1 mix is even and sounds great and he plays some very cool tunes which sound even better because of the quality of the musicians in the band. I'm a drummer so when I saw that Sonny Emory was playing drums I bought it just because of that! Check it out - you won't be dissappointed!
