Movie Reviews of Brown SugarMovie Review: brown sugar Summary: 5 Stars
the best movie-love watching nyc, giving hip hop its props and for once, seeing realistic adult relationships when it comes down to love and finding out that you can be happy, but it will take some work. Most movies or people think you must stay in a relationship "because"-but in browm sugar, the right couple got got together-even though it was complicated. Mos Def was superb because he was real and had great character; while Queen Latifah was my girl-of course Sanaa is still a great actress!
Movie Review: A real love story about true love Summary: 5 Stars
I've give this movie 6 stars becaues it deserves them. Most love stories today don't explore the importance of the foundation of true friendship between soul mates. This movie not only explores the necessity of the foundation of a friendship, but it also depicts the mistake of loving someone who isn't your best friend. Go buy this movie, check out your friendship, relationship, or whatever you are in and make sure that you are not in a jam you shouldn't have got into in the first place!
Movie Review: An Extremely Enjoyable Film Summary: 5 Stars
There's not much, if any, to dislike about this film. That's RARE these days. Sanaa Lathan is one of the most pleasantly beautiful actresses around- The more you see her, the better she looks AND her personality begins to warm you all over. This film only exhudes that charm! Sanaa is fabulous and very winning. The movie is not an over the top, super-duper movie,. It's just a movie that you will enjoy, laugh, and have a good time with- For me, that's great.
Movie Review: I fell in love with hip hop when .... Summary: 5 Stars
...I watched this movie. To those reviewers who feel they have to write scathing reviews of other people's work: "those who can -- do; those who can't -- criticize." The acting in this movie is great, the music is great. The story, even if a little predictable, is fine, too. I've seen this film about 8 or 10 times on HBO and still couldn't see enough of it, so I bought my own copy. Every time I see it, I find something new to like about it.
Movie Review: This movie is for the original rap kids that grew up with the hiphop 5 Stars
Being a preteen in the early to mid eighties meant seeing the hiphop culture form right before your eyes. As you get older you realize that music that you loved as a kid is a part of your psyche and being. And sometimes the culture and your life correlate so much that it's hard to differentiate. The older you get the more life changes but you'll always have those great hiphop moments that pulls you back and puts it all in perspective.
