Movie Review: A MUST buy!!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars
Hi everyone. THIS MOVIE IS A MUST BUY. I have the VHS, and just looked online to see if the DVD is available, I am buying the DVD TODAY!
Every Christian (Catholic and Protestant) needs this in his / her library, second to "The Passion of the Christ". (even rates higher than, "It's A Wonderful Life")
This movie is simple, and a JOY!
The reality of the Pharisee / church hierarchy, vs. the simple message of Jesus: Love God, and Love your neighbor as yourself, makes you just live God's will for you.
This movie is not "theological" (though it is theologically "correct"), just VERY SIMPLE, BEAUTIFUL, LOVING, AND YOU SEE THE GOSPEL, lived in a holy humble simple way. Glory to God, and thank you Francis. If after watching this movie you do not wish to love and follow Jesus more perfectly, you are definately a lost soul (so expect prayers from me, many, and even from Francis from heaven).
Sadly, todays "Franciscans" are nothing like Francis. (I worked with Bruce Ritter, o.f.m (order of the friars minor) in Covenant House in NYC. I visited an old girlfriend from college one day, and Bruce gave me 2 days to pack up and leave. (Then Bruce was caught skimming 90K, and, had a boyfriend, and was given the boot).
I remember my first job after college, before graduate school in the seminary, my suit at JC Penney's cost $49., yet with the Fransciscan's, the "habit" (costume) cost $350. Didn't Francis wear rags? What went wrong from Francis, to today's follower's of Francis?
How about, Catholic or Protestant, we follow JESUS, and not another man's technique of living the great news of Jesus Christ.
This movie will INSPIRE YOU to discover your vocation, and then to GO OUT AND DO IT, IN LOVE!
BUY THIS MOVIE TODAY, LAUGH, CRY, THINK, GROW, PRAY, LIVE, LOVE, AND BE HUMBLE!
(and learn more of this holy man, and what one can accomplish when we do what Jesus says, "Anyone who loses his life for My sake will find it" Matt 16:25).
Buy it, and grow in love.
Yes, Zeffirelli COULD have made it longer, by including such significant events in Saint Francis' later life (stigmata, levitation, early death), so maybe we can look for a "Part II"!
but the way it ended, with how the vicar of Christ ("pope") / successor of Peter responded to Francis, was beautiful (simple, but beautiful).
Inspirational, joyfilled, makes you think, makes you want to serve and surrender to Jesus, too.
and not to change the subject, from the highest truth (Jesus and His love) to a "lower" truth, but if you are one who loves the truth, watch all Alex Jones documentaties (avaliable at amazon.com) proving 9/11 was an inside job, something the media and both politcal parties (owned by global bankers who own our Federal Reserve Bank) will not tell you, as they are bought and paid for puppets of fools ushering in the new world order. (want more truth? learn about chemtrails, DU, HAARP, the dangers of vaccinations, fluoride, chlorine, teflon, and aluminum, and why FEMA has 800 prison camps in the usa today). God bless you, Adveniat Regnum Tuum (Thy Kingdom Come). (and where is "Dark Side of the Moon" movie, it proved the lunar landing was a hoax).
