Movie Review: Great film but track down the (easy to find) uncut version!
Summary: 5 Stars
Many Takeshi Kitano fans hate this film but I actually find it to be his most enjoyable. If you liked Sonatine, then you will like this. However this is the American version of the film and it is HEAVILY CUT AND EDITED! Poorly cut and edited too may I also point out. Some parts which were clear and easy to understand in the original become confusing due to the editing. Have no fear THE ORIGINAL UNCUT VERSION IS EASY TO FIND. I recommend this edition of the film: Brother (Uncut release!) which is awesome.
Summary of Brother
Story centers on a japanese gangster who travels to los angeles to find his younger half-brother who has dropped out of school to become a small-time drug dealer. The brothers form an alliance with a third man and incorporate yakuza-style leadership in an attempt to take over the l.A. Drug business.
