Movie Review: Excellent Film
Summary: 4 Stars

The bad reception this film seems to have gotten is bewildering to me. Yes, it could go into the "torture porn" envelope but that would be narrow sighted. Broken is a tense, nerve shredding horror with superb acting and direction.

The film would get 5 stars but for a slight lag in the middle and a few instances of stupid character syndrome.

Well done to the film makers. I will be on the lookout for more from Adam Mason.

Movie Review: Surprisingly Well-Done, Yet...Frustrating

I rented this movie, assuming by its gruesome cover that it would be a gruesome, probably shlocky horror film (which I like from time to time). As I watched, I realized it really wasn't a horror movie at all, horrific or not. I saw it more as a psychological study of a person's will being completely broken (hence the title), via horrible abuse and restraint. It was well-acted and well shot. As much as I liked the film and would recommend it, I was somewhat frustrated by the things we never know (why is this happening? who is this man?), as well as the ending, which struck me as a little unfair as a conclusion. Then again, since this film is based on a true story, it may well be that this is just the way it was, and that's life. Anyway, I do recommend it.

i bought this movie based on the reviews from amazon i wanted to c this so called badly grussome movie when in fact there was very few graphic scenes the first 15 min theres two graphic scenes then another one 30 min later then one small one near the end thats it all in all it was a ok movie i was hoping for house of a thousand corpes good

I expected alot more out of this movie and was quite disapointed. They should not promote movies as 'unrated' 'gory' or anything else if they really aren't. The only good thing about the movie was the last scene.
