Movie Reviews of Broadway Melody of 1940Movie Review: Broadway Melody of 1940 Summary: 5 Stars
Although the plot is predictable the film is well worth watching for the dance numbers and the Cole Porter music. Eleanor Powell is amazing. The "Begin the Beguine" number with Powell and Astaire alone is worth the price of the DVD.

Movie Review: Last of the Great Black & White Musicals Summary: 5 Stars
Like many of the musicals of the thirties and forties, the story is a little tough to get through. But the swing dance number of Cole Porter's "Begin the Beguine" is something, the likes of which, we'll never see again.
