Movie Reviews of Broadway Danny RoseMovie Review: No 'Agita' with this movie Summary: 5 Stars
OK, I've been watching Woody's movies fot years.
But 'Broadway Danny Rose' is the best thing he has ever done.
THE BEST!!!
Forget all the others, this one is the real deal.
I could never get into Woody's "I'm a pathetic nerd who can't get a woman" characters, but he is absolutly brilliant as a loser theatrical manager.
And Nick Apollo Forte??
BRILLIANT!!
Now I've personally met Mr Forte, and he is one helluva nice guy.
Plus he is a true entertainer!
Buy this DVD-you wont regret it!
Movie Review: Gets better with each viewing !!!!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my favorite Woody Allen film by far. How he came up with Nick Apollo Forte to play a washed up lounge singer, amazes me each time I watch this movie, I pick up things with each viewing that I never noticed before. One of the funniest lines , I never noticed was when Danny is eating dinner with his lounge singer Lou Canova and Danny tells him "tonight don't forget to do my funny valentine, with the special lyrics about the moon landing" Pure genius !
Movie Review: Semi-Woody Fan Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not an avid fan of Woody Allen, but this movie (Broadway Danny Rose) was really great. It is an older movie, but still worth another viewing. I bought the DVD version for some friends who ARE Woody Allen fans and they also loved it. I liked the way he ties in the older comedians with the story line. And he and Mia Farrow were a great team (at least in this movie). I'm also not a great Mia Farrow fan, but this one really works!
Movie Review: A Real Gem Summary: 5 Stars
"Broadway Danny Rose" is an often forgotten very nostalgic and very funny Woody Allen film. I have not seen it in years but there was something very special about it. I remember that it was great to see Sandy Baron in the film. Where was he all those years? This showbiz comedy is as dry and witty as they come and there is a lot of truth and honesty behind it all. Perhaps that's why it has always remained special to me.
Movie Review: "never took a lesson" Summary: 5 Stars
when a bunch of famous comics sit around a deli and tell stories of broadway danny rose, woody allen acts out the vignettes and visually delivers their punchlines. mia farrow literally wears him out so allen has to stay sharper than usual making this allen's best in my books. strongly reccommend.
