Movie Review: Film Noir at it's Best

This movie blew my socks off. It is a stunning Film Noir in which a female ex-con and a mob whore fall in love and plot to steal 2 million bucks from the mob. The dialogue is intelligent and edgy, the sex is steamy, and unless you're a homophobe, the story has a heart. The actors realize their roles to perfection, and Jenifer Tilly's performance rated an Oscar in my opinion. As the mob whore, her seduction of Gina Gershon as Corky, the ex-con, took my breath away. You'll want to watch it over and over. Beg, borrow or steal this DVD, it's a must see.Movie Review: Female Mob Movie

Bound was the first movie made by the Wachowski brothers, of Matrix fame. Bound stars Gina Gershon as Corky, a lesbian ex con hired to work in an apartment as a plumber. She meets neighbor Caesar, who launders money for the mob, and his girlfriend Violet. The two women have a love affair and decide to steal $2,000,000 that Caesar is holding for the mob. Caesar is set up by the two scheming women as a scapegoat and then things get very violent. The movie could be less violent, but overall it was great to see two female leads in a mafia movie.Movie Review: film du noir

I saw this on AMC,and I didn't see the whole thing. Lesbians give me the wilies.When I saw Ceasar tie and gag Violet and threaten to cut off her fingers,I thought Kim Possible,Ron Stoppable,and Rufus can take care of this guy just like[snaps fingers]Kim can kick the whatever it was that Ceasar was threating to cut Violet's finger's off with,because My angel of Truth and Justice can kick it out of his hands with her martial arts. The Watchowski Bros. handcrafted this gem with cinematic bravado and touches of "bullet time" before anyone ever heard of the term. If you want a movie that has a little David Mamet and touch of Christopher Nolan, "Bound" is it. It's got smart and unexpected plot twists like Mamet's movies and awsome cinematography like Nolan's "Memento". This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat biting your fingernails. If Drama, suspence, a little humour and an impressive story line is your thing, then you are BOUND to like this movie. Two ladies ( sort of ) swindles the mob over two million dollars...drama unfolds from the begining throughout the movie keeping you at the edge of your seat.
P.S warning there is a little lesbian scene that deterred my mom from watching the whole movie ( however this was early in the film ).
