Movie Review: Madonna hots up the screen....

After achieving reluctant critical acclaim as a supporting actress in such commercially successfully films as 'League Of Their Own' and 'Dick Tracy', Madonna once again stepped into the leading lady role for this erotic thriller. Released in 1993, Body Of Evidence capped off the Erotica CD/Sex book era of Madonna's career.Madonna portrays Rebecca Carson, gallery owner and s&m/bondage fetishist. Her latest lover, a wealthy older man, dies suddenly of a heart attack and the prime suspect is Rebecca who is touted as being the 'murder weapon' herself.
Body Of Evidence certainly contains many erotic moments - we have never seen Madonna so explicit as we do in this movie. Whilst her sexual prowess is above reproach, her acting here is also noteworthy. Madonna underplays the role here for character subtly. Only in the final few scenes do we see the true Rebecca. Madonna becomes better with every movie she makes and with Body Of Evidence we see a developing actress - her characterisation is believable and holds ones' interest.
Is it a good movie??? That depends on personal opinion, but I believe it is. Definitely in the 'b-grade' category, but I found it to be enjoyable, thrilling, and interesting from the viewpoint of seeing Madonna once again develop her on-screen prowess.
Movie Review: Just do it, says Madonna
Summary: 4 Stars
Certainly the best film of all time, Madonna stars as a hot sex addict who loves to dominate her men. When the old man she's been seeing dies in a sex-related position, Madonna is fingered as the culprit. Since the old guy was very rich and Madonna stands to inherit tons of cash, she is taken to court and must prove her innocence. Represented by Willem Dafoe, she uses her feminine wiles to seduce him and the court. But is she telling the truth?
It's not like people buy this to see some spectacular acting, even though every last line is awesome and quote-worthy. Most people go to titter at the nudity, and you get some topless Madonna shots and some soft-focus nudes, so there's that. Don't be surprised if someone walks in while you're watching this and ask if you're watching a pornographic feature.
When the conclusion comes along, make sure to wipe your jaw off the floor. I know I did after the stunning plot twist that I didn't even guess until maybe twenty minutes in.
Movie Review: This movie isn't as bad as you think

Madonna's track record with movies has not been too good. When this movie was released it was trashed by the critics, but I believe it was in part because it was released at the same time as her Sex book and Erotica CD. Most of the public were fed up with Madonna and sex and people basically ignored this movie and one of her best CD's, Erotica.
Madonna plays Rebecca Carlson who is accused of killing her lover with sex for his millions. Rebecca then gets involved with her attorney in some over the top sex scenes (candle wax and a broken light bulb). Madonna is particularily good during the trial scenes (her acting isn't as bad as some make it out to be)and the ending will blow you away, it definitely took me by surprise. I would definitely give this movie a chance and look past the fact that it is Madonna and just enjoy the movie.
Movie Review: Madonna really loves contreversy, doesn't she?

This movie is pretty good. I love Madonna so it's kind of shameful for me to see her naked, but this movie is above decent. Not only does she prove she can act, and that she is sexy, but this looks like a high point in her career (with Dangerous Game) because she looks so young and new to the acting scene. These types of erotic thrillers usually are pretty bad (1994's Mother's Boys) but I guess Madonna fans will enjoy it more then for what it's worth. I found it entertaining, more freeky and odd then romantic/erotic and the sex scenes were kind of funny (there isn't as much sex in this movie as people say) This is overall not a film that makes Madonna fans very proud, but it's bold, shameless and entertaining, well worth a view or DVD purchase.Movie Review: good

The art gallery owner by day and icy-blond dominatrix by night is accused of, shall we say, "loving" her victim to death." This movie was great, good acting, some sex scenes during the movie and Madonna bares it all...this movie has good actors. This film is like MOTHER'S BOYS meets UNFAITHFUL...Although Unfaithful was a little nastier to me, this movie was entertaining and somewhat suspensful. Madonna is beautiful.She was great in this movie and the acting was superb. Not that much sex, well, there is quite a bit, but not as nasty as one might think.
