Movie Review: One of the Best Movies ever made!
Summary: 5 Stars
The movie itself is one of the best movies ever made. A great neo-noir that has it all: murder, sex, money, twists, turns, humor. A true classic.
The transfer of the movie is fine. If you are expecting a highly detailed look with bright colors, you will be disappointed. But this was not the way the movie was filmed. It is a noir film. It is supposed to be dark and soft. It was a relatively low budget movie as well.
The extras on the disc are very good. Three good featurettes that cover the entire production of the movie from concept to post production. I only wish Lawrence Kasdan and/or the cast had done an audio commentary.
Is this a significant improvement over the Collector's edition DVD? Probably not. But it is an improvement. If you have the original DVD released in the 90's with the 16x9 trnasfer on one side and a 4x3 trnasfer on the other with virtually no extras, pick this up. If you have the CE DVD, it's a tougher call, but I think the improvements make the disc worth picking up. It's very reasonably priced, as well
Movie Review: Film Noir at its best
Summary: 5 Stars
Body Heat is film noir at its best. Set in a Florida town, it tell the story of Ned Racine, a two-bit lawyer with more than a little larceny in his heart. Ned is meandering through life when he meets Mattie Walker, a sultry married woman with a rich (and largely absent) husband. Sparks fly between the two, and before you know it, talk of money and murder fill the air. Directed by Lawrence Kasdan from a script that he wrote, Body Heat is stylish, moody, introspective, and oh, so very engaging. The cinematography is beautifully and lovingly done; the acting is superb; and the haunting musical score by John Barry is the perfect accompaniment. If you've never seen this film before, do yourself a favor and settle down with a glass of wine and prepare to fall in love. If you're an old fan, treat yourself to a renewed experience in Blu-ray format. Either way, you'll be doing yourself a favor.Movie Review: Glad this came out so soon on blu-ray

Blu-ray looks quite decent, represents pretty much how I remember seeing it way back when in the movie theater all those years ago). That's what film looked like back then, often as not. And it too is one of my favorites, and the extras were nice to finally get around to as well, quite worthwhile.
(Saw a bit of unexpected noise in the really dark scenes, though, so given I don't always see that type of thing in dark-ish blu-rays, took this 5-star film down to a 4-star blu-ray rating, even though it could possibly be due to my TV not being set quite right. As they say, your milage may vary.)
(And, to compensate for those goobers who don't know what they're doing and/or what they're talking about giving this 1-star, I've bumped it back up to 5-stars. So there you go.)
Movie Review: Outstanding!

The video and audio transfer of the aged DVD version is excellent. Although the original movie was shot with very little light, the Blu-ray versions is much better (although not perfect).
Interviews with the main actors (25-years later) show up in the extras portion of the disc as well as lots of other interesting comments from those who shot the movie.
This is one you will want for your collection.
Movie Review: Great Product for the money

Body Heat is one for the library. Always intriguing to watch. One tip. Why buy new DVD's when you can buy used from a reputable seller?. Used from a good seller is just as good as new (shssssss) trust me. The trick is, when you buy anything used from the Amazon web site, buy from "Amazon fulfilment" or a seller with at least a six figure rating. This works with almost anything you buy on Amazon. You'll always win.
