Movie Reviews of Body BagsMovie Review: Great classic tales by John Carpenter!! Summary: 5 StarsThis is a great collection by John Carpenter. If you like his work you will love Body Bags!!
Movie Review: Cut Version Summary: 3 Stars Hey Folks, Im going to make this one short and sweet. The version I purchased is a "cut edition" of the original, that was aired on cable. They cut out some extended gore at the end of each tale. I felt ripped off by this and just wanted people to know what they are buying!
Peace!
Movie Review: Disappointed, but had been warned. Summary: 3 Stars First and foremost, I have been a very happy Amazon customer. Secondly I had read a warning previously that this DVD version had had scenes edited, but I was unaware to what extent and if all three segments had been cropped.
I used to own this movie as a previously viewed VHS tape from a local Blockbuster. I know most reviews have made the case that "The Gas Station" was their least favorite of the three segments, but that was the one that I liked the most.
In fact I liked it so much that that was the only reason I decided to purchase this on DVD. Like I said I know someone mentioned there had been editing, but I figured I'd give it a whirl. It had also been so long since I'd seen it I was anxious to view it again, (my VHS copy long missing in action.)
Sadly I was quite disappointed in the edits made to the "Gas Station" segment. First of all I swear I remember her getting her work issue blue shirt. Here she just appears in a scene wearing it. She also just appears in the bathroom apparently trying to calm her self down after something has happened, but we see nothing that should make her feel upset yet. Also didn't Wes Craven have a small cameo in this? If so he is nowhere to be found in my version.
I just wish for whatever reason they hadn't found these cuts to be crucial to the release on DVD. Out of about twenty some odd movies this is the first to sort of disappoint me. I also wish it had been widescreen, but I know it was made for T.V., maybe that wasn't possible?
Movie Review: Body Bags DVD Summary: 4 StarsOne of John Carpenters movies is always a must-see. I remember watching Body Bags when I was a little kid, and I always wanted to get it on DVD.
John plays a funny coroner in a morgue telling 3 different tales of horror with the usual Carpenter twist.
The first is titled - "The Gas Station".
- A 24 hour gas station hires a new employee to work alone on the graveyard shift. Little does she know a satanic serial killer is on the loose.........
The second is titled - "Hair".
- A man obsessed with searching for the most effective cure for hair loss goes to the extreme to satisfy himself. The message in this tale is, be careful what you wish for.
And third is titled - "The Eye"
- A man loses his eye in an accident, and is left with the decision to replace it with an eye from another donor. Yet maybe finding out who the donor was before would have been smart.
All in all with the three tales and John's humourous performance, this DVD is a great horror classic, that I watch times and times again....
Any horror film fan, that likes the 80's horror films, with horror and humor, should definately buy this DVD.
Movie Review: BodyBags.. Summary: 3 StarsDear Readers and soon to purchase this DVD customer..
I'm really let down when I pop in the DVD into my DVD player. I was so eager waiting the arrival of this DVD at my home. The cover or the packaging is just like the normal of the others DVDs..
The whole let down of this movie is because there "ARE" "A LOT" of scenes has been deleted or edited.. Thumbs down... I still prefer the LD "Laser Disc" version where the sound and image quality is more superb than this DVD. If anyone just want to get hold of this DVD I'll recommend to purchase it but don't put so much hope on it..Like I did...
The dvd comes in three short movie..first the Gas Station...if without the deleted scenes you can expect more GOre.. secondly is the Hair.. which is my favourite...then lastly is the "the eye".. my dad's fav. Check it out yourself..
