Movie Review: What can you expect from a snake movie?
Summary: 3 Stars
I rented this DVD with low expectations. I wasn't expecting an ingenious, Oscar-worthy film... I was expecting to see some so-so actors get eaten by a huge snake. I got what I was expecting.Boa takes itself too seriously at times and expands on the "New Alcatraz" plotline too much. It's funny at times, even though it's not supposed to be. I cheered when one particularly annoying criminal was killed. However, I was shocked that so many characters died. I thought more people would survive than how many actually did.
If you're fan of B-horror movies, then you might enjoy Boa. If you're a fan of Dean Cain, then you might like Boa. But if you're like me and you just want to see people get eaten by a giant snake, then you will probably like Boa.
Movie Review: Horrible acting, okay movie.

These snake movies are gettin' old fast! The snake was sorta cool and the kills were alright. But the ACTING...OH MAN! So weak...so weak... Giant snake! What will we do? Well, Dean Cain, I'll tell ya what ya do: ya stand there, mouth hangin' wide open, and scream, sounding like [an] [idiot]! But the movie isn't so bad. The plot is okay. A little silly, but okay. What do you expect from a B horror snake movie?
The DVD isn't bad either. It gives you a TEASER TRAILER, AUTO COMMENTARY, and some more stuff. I guess if you're lookin' for cheese city you can rent this. Because if you're lookin' for cheese city (that's just a term I use for a real cheesey horror film) you've reached your destination. (13 year old viewer)

Boa is a smooth moving scifi flick. It has good qualities like Dean Cain being in it and the CG is handled smoothly. But good actors and well-motioned CG isn't enough to earn this one a 4 or 5 because even though the CG is handled well, you can still tell it is computer generated, and some of the prisoner characters are just ridiculous. Overall this is a movie you might want to check out, but rent it before you buy it.Movie Review: another snake movie

probably about as good as it's going to get for a giant snake movie. fairly entertaining movie that keeps going pretty good till the end. pretty darn cool looking snake too that has a fair share of victims to devour. not as much blood and guts that i was hoping for but i'd say it's worth renting. especially if your a giant snake fan.Movie Review: Not enough screen time for the snake
