Movie Reviews of Blue Submarine 6 - Special Edition

Movie Review: Dude!! This is totally the best!!!!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I found this anime title on cartoon network when they ran it as a movie. They did a nice job editing and dubbing evan keeping the original names (that's a big surprise). The animation in this is gorgeos ranging from computer graphics (CG) and your wonderful anime artistry. The charectar designs for this anime is phenomanal and the way the emotions are depicted are beautiful. I have seen many anime in my life but this one is wonderful. I havn't had the chance to see it on a tape uncut or anything but as for a tv version I personally think it was wonderful. Blue Sub no. 6 is basiclly about the end of the world when the major cites of earth are flooded and creatures start attacking people. A young 18 year-old girl named Kino starts off the movie looking for Mayami (Spelling? i think its right) an ex-pilot. She finds him and is dissapointed in his lack of enthusiasum and leaves. She and her friend whose name I don't remember are going back to Blue Sub 6 when these giant spider-like creatures start attacking the people of the city. in the end of the whole ordeal Mayami ends up saving Kino, her friend, and some lady from being fried. So Mayami emds up on Blue 6 after all. Evevtually the main crew of blue sub 6 send Mayami and Kino out in a scouter ship to get rid of some demon water crafts. Kino and Mayami end up shooting one of those spider-like things and it is stuck on top of a submerged building. Mayami exits the scouter and finds a human, girl-like creature with red eyes and weird hair. Mayami saves her and later on this prooves to be useful, when he is drowning in the ocean. The demon girl carries him back to safty, whitch is a giant floating piece of rubble left from a blue sub explosion (note: not blue sub 6 another part of the Blue army fleat) Mayami wakes up to find the demon girl floating in the water staring at him. time passes and the two become frinds. Time goes by and the final battle to save mankind has come and Kino and Mayami go off in search of the mad scientist who created all of the demons and killed 10 billion people. Since this is such a good story and I can't nearly tell it as good as it is then I'm going to stop and say one thing (ok.....maybe a couple) Blue Submarine no. 6 allllllllllll the way!!!!!! oh yeah and the music in it is awesome!!!!!

Movie Review: Quality through and through
Summary: 5 Stars

This is some of the best looking Anime that I have ever had the pleasure to view. A seamless mix of CGI effects and standard cel animation. Each volume is better than the last.

Don't be fooled, this is not an animated version of "Seaquest", Blue Submarine is on the same level of quality as "Ghost In the Shell" and "Macross Plus". If you like real Anime, not the Pokemon stuff, or like good animation then this is a must-have.

Movie Review: One of the best anime's I've ever seen!
Summary: 5 Stars

When I first saw the commercial on Cartoon Network I didn't think much of it. "Probably just another of those short annoying animes that don't make any sense." But when I watched it, it completely changed my mind! Unlike most animes, this combines life like drawings that almost pop out at you and 2-D characters. The plot is really good and so is the music. I highly recommend this anime, too bad it's just a movie. It's kind of like GW where it explores and tries to portray human nature at it's best and worst. It's about a Submarine named Blue Sub. Number 6 that must save the fate of humanity from the warped destiny created by Dr. Zorndike and his "children". A fight for the survival and the fittest. You won't regret watching it.

Movie Review: A Amazing Piece of art.
Summary: 5 Stars

This Is a very short but very Entertaining and Impressive peice of art. It is a very creative mix of Computer with animation and Art. Some of the action is just incredible . It starts off in a world which is flooded by this...Insane man that trys to square off man against his bio created machine things. He also melts the polar Icecaps and kills most of the earth. which of course most the earth is flooded all their battles are with submarines. Some of the action can get Very intense with very good action and suspense with fear for the charcaracters 20 bucks is still alot for 1 episode but...hey..I cant say its really worth it but..If your a anime fan you gotta at least RENT This. If your a collecter...buy it. a short series with only about 5 episodes...which also means not much times for character devolpment. And say this review was helpful will ya (;

Movie Review: Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?
Summary: 3 Stars

Aside from the price vs. legth ratio, there isn't a lot to complain about. Blue Submarine No. 6 features some really amazing cel animation combined (at times haphazardly) with 3D computer animation. The effect seems to work most of the time, but at times can be a little jarring epspecially when they cut from a scene with a lot of cel animation to one with mostly computer animation. Despite that, BS6 looks incredibly crisp and sounds terrific regardless of audio track.

The story however, is fairly cut and dry, cliche laden sci-fi stuff, but interesting enough to keep you tuned in.

Essentially, BS6 is a nice addition to a DVD collection for strict use as an eye candy disc. Just remember not to run to the kitchen for a beer, because the DVD will be over by the time you open the fridge.
