Movie Reviews of Blood - The Last VampireMovie Review: Really great. Summary: 5 Stars
I have heard alot of bad reviews for this movie and I simply don't understand why.. I found it extremely good. Infact the only real complaint I can come up with is the fact that it's only about 48 minutes (including credits). The animation is top notch, the music is great, it's very dark and violent. I also like the plot too.. Definitley not your typical vampire story. Although alot of things are left unclear at the end, I like coming up with my own conclusion. But anyways, it's a safe bet you will enjoy this movie is you like animes such as Vampire Hunter D.
Movie Review: Bood Summary: 5 Stars
Blood: The Last Vampire, while only about 50 minutes long, is one of the best anime flicks yet. ...Even though the plot left a little to be desired, this was still one of the best animes I have ever seen. Like most horror animes, Blood is graphically violent. If you are a fan of action movies like Ninja Scroll, or deeper pictures like Akira or Ghost in the Shell, you should deffinitely check this out. And if you don't feel like shelling out the cash for the DVD, find some other way to watch it, otherwise you'll be missing out.
Movie Review: A BIG IMPROVEMENT OVER MEER TECH TRICKS: IT'S ART! Summary: 5 Stars
So much of anime today is praised for its more/sharper detail. So much of BLOOD is a big artful leap forward. It's like an independant film maker's pushing of the style envelope, with sophisticated surprises/graphic innovations in every frame. There are fewer graphic cliches in BLOOD than any anime I've seen. Sure, the sharp detail is there; but the composition and visual flow seem years' ahead of the anime pack. Oh, and its surround audio track is supurb - very separated/articulated. Hope more like this follow!
Movie Review: Intense and Exciting Anime Summary: 5 Stars
This is an intense and exciting anime. The use of computer generated graphics meshed well with realistic, very expressive hand drawn characters. The lighting effects, camera movement, and pace of action sequences made this one a real nail biter. There isn't much dialogue in this short film, and a good deal of it is in English. Subtitles are utilized where Japanese is spoken. I agree that the story is very brief, and there is no depth to the characters at all, but this is quite a ride! Highly recommended.
Movie Review: a wonderous anime short film. Summary: 5 Stars
I was suprised by the freshness and overall quality of this film. It has a certain tension that keeps your interest and captures your imagination. The demon fight scenes were some of the most dramatic and intense I've yet to see in an anime. The CG animation and angles were all well thought out and descriptive and put you in the action. The english dubbing was average and the ending was great. This is a wonderful short film and even those not into anime will be sure to enjoy it.
