Movie Review: Dont Miss This

It will leave you wanting for more. I thought I bought the one of the greatest anime. It builds, then it leaves you hanging, wondering. Why? Not because it doesnt have an ending, it does...but desiring more of the animation, the story. You'll want to know what was before and if there is an after. To some (like me) it was frustrating, no, in fact very frustrating at first because it was too short to be considered a film. That was because you are enjoying it too much, every savouring moment..every lingering minute. The cost per minute is not worth it. But over time, as i rewatch it time and time again, i begin to feel I have gained more than I have lost. I am writing about the feelings of the film and not about film itself cause you can read about it elsewhere. From the makers of GHOST IN THE SHELL comes a new kind of anime movie. Based on the novel "Kemonotachi no Yoru" (NIGHT OF THE MONSTERS) by Mamoru Oshii (director of GHOST IN THE SHELL), the story is a lot like the U.S.'s BLADE (1998), with a human vampire fighting evil vampires, etc, etc, but set in a 1960's Yokota Japan, American military complex. The main "good guys" are these 3 secret agents, one of them is SAYA, a vampire killer who is not human or vampire (making her mysterious). she looks like she is 16 years old, but is said to bee 100 in the book. The other characters are agents David and Luis, the school nurse, and these things called Chirpterans that look like bats. so if you wath a good anime then get blood.2000. Manga. 82 MINS.

FIRST AND FOR MOST THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP SAYING IT'S TOO SHORT AT THE BACK OF THE CASE IT SAYS IN CLEAR ENGLISH 45 MIN. EITHER YOU DIDNT READ IT WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT OR YOU DOWNLOADED IT ONLINE AND FIGURED OUT THE TIME LENGTH AFTER YOU WATCHED IT.OK NOW FOR THE REVIEW YES THERE IS NOT MUCH DEVELOPEMENT WITH ANY CHARACTERS INCLUDING SAYA(MAIN CHARACTER) BUT IT STILL MAKES UP FOR GOOD ACTION SCENES AND KICK ASS ANIMATION WHICH MOST WOULD AGREE.(BIG SPOILER)......TO THOSE WHO SAY THEY NEVER EXPLAINED WHY SHE IS THE LAST ONE AND WHY SHE IS MAD AT THOSE MONSTERS IS BECAUSE THEY KILLED HER WHOLE FAMILY HERE IT IS IN MATH TERMS. I have read all the other customer reviews here for this gem and am forced to add my 2-cents. I am not a professional anime critic, only a novice at best and this film stands in my library of japanese anime as a classic. It is a real blend of horror and action without gratuitous violence. The action is also very cinematic and you forget that it is an animated film due to the fluidity of movement and color. It also is set in the 40's after the U.S. occupied Japan after the war and does a good job of communicating the cultural atmosphere of the time, being set in an American Air Force base. It is rather short for a film, but I believe it is a story that does not need to be stretched out to fit the "2 hour" american film viewing attention span.Movie Review: Totally cool but too short!

OK, first of all, this movie is definitely great! I saw it being previewed on MTV n i told mumy to straight away buy it at the nearest store so we wen n buy it n like wen we wen home i opened da VCD cover(it's an original)...only 1VCD! so i taught it wud be at least for an hour but alas! Only around 45mins! The movie was really great n Saya was really ruthless n da vampires r really blood thirsty vampires! But why ois it so short? They could make it longer! That is not what I call a movie! Everything was perfect except for the time rate! That was the only movie that I truly enjoyed watching n i neva moved! So when it was the end I was like "That's it?! 45 mins! That's it?!" But still, the movie is termendously great!
