Movie Review: So Funny

This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I'm not a big Mel Brooks fan (indifferent usually) but this film was top notch. Richard Pryor is listed as one of the screenplay writers, which I didn't know until now. I though Pryor was hilarious (rest his soul) so perhaps it was his insight that helped me like this movie so much, or maybe not-I have no idea. I don't know what it is, but I just finished watching it in HD and this movie is just plain funny. Oh, and the Blu Ray transfer was better than I expected for such an old movie!Movie Review: Classic Mel Brooks film gets great Blu-ray transfer!

After watching this film for years on cable tv, one truly looses the real essence of the film. My wife and I watched this recently wondering how a High Definition Blu-ray conversion of a 30 year old film would look, we were awe-struck! This film simply looks amazing! It is perhaps one of the best older film transfers to any HD format I have seen to date.
The colors are brilliant, the detail is sharp, and the movie is laugh-out-loud funny!
Definitely a must for any PS3 or Blu-ray owner!

I didn't have high expectations for picture/sound quality of Blazing Saddles on blu-ray. I mean, it's such an old movie, how good could it be?
I was actually shocked to find it has excellent picture quality ...amazing picture quality, considering the movie was filmed in 1974! The edges are sharp, the colors are rich, I have never seen Blazing Saddles like this before. The audio is also very good.
If you're a Mel Brooks fan, this one is well worth getting on blu-ray.

If you're a blazing Saddles/Mel Brooks fan and have a Blu-Ray player than this is great purchase,great picture,sound,and extras(the same ones that appear on the 30th anniversary DVD I presume)!!! A solid Blu Ray release from Warner Bros!!! Absolote classic comedy!!! This saga sure did get an even break on Blu-Ray Disc!!! I was lucky and got this on sale for ten bones brand new!!! a seventies comedy classic!!! Recommended!!! A+ Two Thumbs up!!!Movie Review: excellent quality

The only downside to this is that it is not a box set of all of Mel Brooks' movies in Blu-ray. I was curious to see what an older title such as Blazing Saddles would look like in Blu-ray and I was amazed. I don't know if the original master was just in excellent condition or if they had to go frame by frame and clean it up, but the detail level was astounding. Now if only Robin Hood Men in Tights was on Blu-ray, I'd be in Mel Brooks heaven.
