Movie Reviews of Blade Runner (Limited Edition Collector's Set)Movie Review: -2 stars for the Poor sound on the DVD Summary: 3 StarsOK. I love the movie. I like the directors cut. I hate the sound. This is great is you DON'T have a good sound system, but if you have it, you won't like what comes out of your speakers. Bah to the hollywood scum that cheesed out and didn't remaster the sound.
Movie Review: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe..." Summary: 5 StarsGreat movie. Not only for its visual effects, but also it's story line. There is so much symbolism and in depth analytical items in which to bring forth from watching this film. A true masterpiece and one which I can always enjoy, I absolutely love it. My favorite scene is near the end when Deckert is being chased. It is magnificent! Truly, whether you have heard it was bad or good, you should go watch it. To just get the knowledge of this film in incredible.
Movie Review: Need The Voice-Over Summary: 1 StarsWarning...without the voice over this is just another jumbled sci-fi feature...Harrison Ford's narrative gives more insight into the film and the other characters...The ending is just that an ending...you have to use your imagination...besides all the above the special effects are tremendous in giving us a very unflattering view of the "future". Harrison Ford is good as usual but Rutger Hauer steals all the scenes he is in...he was perfectly cast and it must have been written with him in mind. Please Please Please will someone release on DVD the original theatrical release with the voice overs!
Movie Review: Studio Got Lazy On This One Summary: 1 StarsWarner Bros. shouldn't have released the Director's Cut by itself. They should have released a Criterion Collection containing the Director's Cut, as well as the Original Trailer, the extra violence only seen overseas, the footage cut from the Workprint (such as the Holden in the Hospital scene, and Zhora's snake dance) and maybe a Director's Commentary since almost every other Ridley Scott DVD has one! The fact of the matter is that there are way too many extra features never before seen to produce a DVD as bare-bones as this one is. Personally i would love to see the trailer, the hospital scene, and the extra violence but unfortunately this basic DVD is all that's out there.
Movie Review: Most are wrong ... Summary: 5 StarsMost think the scene of a unicorn in the Director's Cut is "idiotic" ... people, you have to *watch* the movie -- especially with the narrative missing! One of "them" waiting for Decker makes a little unicorn from aluminum -- thus hinting that "they" know what Decker is thinking ... which in turn indicates that Decker himself might not be human. There are other scenes which hint to that ... The depth of the whole movie is unbelievable.
