Movie Reviews of Black Hawk Down [Blu-ray]

Movie Review: Am I missing something here?
Summary: 4 Stars

I wanted to give the DVD movie three stars, but maybe I don't understand the technology that well. I have a 56 inch Samsung DLP HDTV with 1080P; I hooked up my PS3 with an HDMI cable and just bought this Blue Ray DVD movie. The bright colors are absolutely amazing but the dark colors have more "grain" than my average DVD's when I play them. With the money I've spent the performance should be spotless, but that's completely not the case. Am I all alone or maybe something is hooked up incorrectly? I cannot get the movie to fill the whole TV as well, so top and bottom are cut off, which I believe is normal - not sure.

Sorry, don't mean to ruin the five star performances, but very frustrated with the dark grain colors. It's very noticeable and was shaking my head the whole time.

Movie Review: And The Oscar Should Of Gone To:
Summary: 4 Stars

Black Hawk Down. What can I say? This movie is flawless. Absolutley flawless. Maybe better than Saving Private Ryan. You have to admit, Saving Private Ryan was great, but Black Hawk Down is greater. People that say say Black Hawk Down isn't good, Your not right in the head. Everyone in this move is awesome. From Josh Hartnett to Ewan mcGregor. I have a note to Josh Hartnett, Keep up with the war movies Josh. Pearl Harbor might not have been good, but he was good in it. Before I get off the subject lets talk about the movie. The two hour strait fighting scenes are good. The acting is good. The sound is good. The special effects are good. What's there to talk about? This Movie comes out on DVD on June 11. See the friken movie. You won't be angry.

Movie Review: amazing visual detail
Summary: 4 Stars

First off, this is not a sci-fi film where it is all clean with cgi. This is a real life film with real dirt on the ground. There is a lot of grain but only if you look for it. Looking at the ground the battle resides on is where you discover the true abilities of HD. The level of detail in the surroundings is overwhelming and brings more realism to the viewing experience. Colors are saturated, but it might have been intended that way. The sound is all over the place with bullets wheezing and ricocheting everywhere. And not to mention this is one of the best war movie to date.

Movie Review: Great Movie, But HD Was A Little Disappointing
Summary: 4 Stars

This was a launch BR disc, so I didnt expect the best quality out there. Keep in mind, BHD in Blu Ray is fantastic. The quality is better, clearer, more contrast, sharper, etc...compared to standard DVD. But for the price I spent, I have to say I was a little disappointed. I bought the DVD for $4 used on Amazon. I got the BR version for $15 on Amazon. But I am a cheap person. For those who have a BR player, an HDTV, and dont have the DVD to BHD - this is a great pickup. For those who have the DVD, wait for a price drop on this.

Movie Review: blackhawk up
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a very good war movie. There isnt much to compare it to. The Somilia thing didnt produce many movies. The movie stayed 80% true to the movie. Read the book and you have basically seen the movie. Lots of action. This movie gives you a little insight to what our special forces can do.
