Movie Review: A wonderful family film!

This movie really is a beauty.
The only dissapointment is, that there are no special features.
From start to finish, everything about this gem of a film, is beautiful.
Set in circa 1890 England, during the Edwardian period, the entire film is narrated by the title character, 'Black Beauty'. From the time of his birth til his retirement, it shows how he changes owners and makes and loses friends. Although none of the animals talk during the film, only 'Beauty' tells in narration about his life. The sets, costumes and characters are all very nicely portrayed.
Nothing bad to say about this film.

Movie Review: WELL DONE INTERPRETATION OF THE BOOK

I just rented this one yesterday for our children. We finished reading the book just last week and I took a chance on the video that recently came out. This was done quite well and pretty much sticks with the book's story. The music is great and the first thing our yougest said, before the movie got started was, "This is nice music!" Needless to say, both of our children enjoyed it and so did my wife and I. The cinematogrphy and the music were excellent. The story faithful to the book and the overall job was well done. It's not too long, just under an hour and a half and that makes it easy to keep the kids attention. We will be shopping for the DVD.Movie Review: Beautiful Insight From a Horse's Point of View

Animals can't create thier own lives ond futures, it really is all up to chance for them. This is the best movie representing that that I've ever seen. I absolutely don't reccomend this for kids, they see it and automatically veto it because of the cruelty and death, but childern don't understand that that is often times a reality in the life of any animal, not just back in the time this movie is set in, but today as well. From the pages of the book right onto the movie-screen Black Beauty is a timeless masterpiece that any animal lover should read and watch, and even if you don't like animals, this one might soften you up a little.Movie Review: Beautiful and inspirational -- a movie everyone should watch

Almost a decade after reading the book, I recently watched the film version of Black Beauty. I was amazed at the trueness of the movie in staying to the book version and the skillfulness of the director in conveying so many intricate themes through the narration, music, and choice of scenery/characters. The life and feelings of animals are elegantly portrayed in this movie, and I was reminded how lucky I am to live freely and not at the whim of "owners". This is a wonderful for children and adults alike and reminds us all of the value of friendship and treating all well.Movie Review: The best Childhood Movie, that I can remember

I loved the book and I loved the movie. It has been the best childhood movie that I can remember. I just love it. If you want to see the movie, read the book first. So, you won't get lost when you see the movie. I'm just saying that you would enjoy the movie better if you do. This movie shows the meaning of true friendship and what we can do for others. I didn't know that the movie has Sean Bean (from Lord of the Rings) and David Thewlis ( from Harry Potter) in it. That made it even more fun, to see them so young. Watch the movie and read the book, I'll know you'll love it!
