Movie Reviews of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

Movie Review: "Something strange is afoot at the Circle K."
Summary: 4 Stars

!Heather's teenage son!

This movie was so stupid and fun. The plot follows two air-head California teenage boys who are failing their History class. To pass, they have to get an A+ on their oral History report. If Ted doesn't pass, he goes to military school! While studying at Circle K, a time-machine/phone booth combination appears infront of them. A man named Rufus comes out and tells them they must go through history to pass this report and the future Bill & Teds tell them that they will have a most excellent adventure! Well, they were right. They had a most excellent adventure with hillarious results.

Keanu Reeves is definately better at doing stuff like this than doing a serious role. He needs to stop with that Matrix-type stuff and go back to comedy. I mean, he just sucks as a serious actor but I enjoyed him quite a bit in this film. The other actor was also great and a little bit better. George Carlin plays Rufus, which is awesome because George Carlin is one of the funniest men alive. The comedy in this film is sooo California that you have to live on the west coast or atleast have been there to get all of the humor in this film. Overall, this and it's sequel are both incredibly entertaining comedies that you must buy. 4/5

Movie Review: Excellent!
Summary: 4 Stars

There is a lot of good-spirited innocence and an undermining educational value in BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE. Sort of a "Wayne's World" meets "Back to the Future". Just before the dawn of Beavis & Butthead, and Wayne & Garth, Bill & Ted were the most excellent dynamic duo of their day. Also, instead of a Delorean for time travel machine, there is a simple phone booth. Two metal heads, Bill & Ted (Keanu Reeves & Alex Winter) are supposedly the key figures for a utopian distant future because their band's (The Wylde Stallions) music will inspire generations for peace and harmony. A time traveller from that future, Rufus (played most-excellent by George Carlin) goes to Bill & Ted's era to make help them along to make sure the future is ensured. This means the duo must pass a certain high school history assignment that is to be presented at a high school assembly. Rufus/Carlin gives them the phone booth/time machine to gather historical figures from the past. These figures are to give their views of the modern world, specifically the city of San Diemas where Bill & Ted reside. The historical figures are unique and as varied from Billy the Kid, Socrates, Joan of Arc, Freud, Napolean, Beethoven, Genghis Khan, and Abraham Lincoln. The writers don't dwell on the historical figures being overwelmed by their time travel trip but rather let the characters treat it as "matter-of-fact". It actually lifts the movie and helps the story along by letting the characters accept their "time travel kidnapping" with little or no hesitation. Along with the basic time travel pitfalls and twists and turns that are handled well, the film does not become bogged down or "bogus". It is very amusing and fun to watch. Good performances all around from the two leads, Carlin, the actors playing the historical figures, and the location shots of San Diemas, this is a most excellent adventure.

Movie Review: Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989)
Summary: 4 Stars

This movie is so #$*^ing stupid that it's good. Although the film is drenched in cliches, predictable, and has a lot of stereo typed characters, the film still offers a very comical experience. The film is a laugh out loud riot, so you can't help but enjoy this film. You'll be laughing when Ted's little brother ditches Napoleon at the Bowling Alley, or when the other historical figures are running around the mall. Overall, if you want a comedy that doesn't require a lot of thought, then look no further than this one. I highly recommend it.

Movie Review: Most Triumphant
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of the greatest films of all times. I love this film, and actually own two copies of it, just in case something should happen to one of them. Whenever any one decides to watch a movie, I will always recommend watching this movie. This is the type of movie you can watch over and over again and never get tired of. The acting is great, with Alex Winter playing Bill S. Preston Esquire and Keanu Reeves playing Ted Theodore Logan. The way that they can portray these kids is amazing, and probably harder than any one might think. Their California, west coast accents are perfect.
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is a comedy about two clueless, metal head high school kids. This comedy is based on their simple confusion and many crazy events. The jokes are simple but hilarious, such as being asked who Caesar is by their History teacher and responding a "Salad Dressing Dude." The movie is safe for all ages to watch, with no crude language or violence.
The Plot revolves around Bill and Ted trying to get an A+ on there history final. Ted's father threatens him saying he will send him to an Alaskan military school if he fails this class. If the two colleagues are separated, their band (Wyld Stallyns) will never be formed. For some reason far in the future the Wyld Stallyn music is the center for all life. It somehow solves all of the problems in the world. It aligns the planets and brings peace between all beings, from extraterrestrials all the way to common household pets.
This brings the story to some of the most creative ideas ever. The leaders of in the future, to keep Bill and Ted form separating, send help in the form of Rufus, played by George Carlin. If that is not odd enough, his mode of transportation is a phone booth. Using modern technology, from the future, this phone booth is equipped with the ability for time travel. The phone booth travels through the circuits of time, and the concept of how the booth works. They use a phone book to locate a phone number to take them to any point in time.
The sound track for this movie is excellent. It is mostly 80's rock music. It is perfect for this movie. The songs or selected for each scenes perfectly. Some of the songs include Robbie Robb's song In Time and Power Tool's song Two Heads Are Better Than One.
This scenery in this film is very good. Where in most low budget movies, scenery is lacking, this film does not. The boys are taken to many different places in time, and in all these places the detailing of all the scenery is excellent. Even in the shortest scenes the area is very believable.
In the end there is almost nothing that I can say bad about this movie. I hope that every one takes the time at least one time to watch it. After your watch it once you will realize that you will probably watch it more like five hundred times. So save yourself a rental fee for Blockbuster and just buy it. You will b very happy with what you get. In the words of Bill and Ted "Be excellent to each other and party on dudes!"

Movie Review: NOTHING SPECIAL. IT'S JUST HARD NOT TO LAUGH AT
Summary: 4 Stars

TWO HIGH SCHOOLERS [ALEX WINTER AND A YOUNG KEANU REEVES] GO BACK IN TIME TO BRING SOME HISTORIC PEOPLE TO MODERN TIMES WITH THEM FOR A HISTORY PROJECT. NOTHING REALLY SPECIAL ABOUT IT, I JUST LOVE TO LAUGH AT THE JOKES. I DEFINITELY THINK THIS IS A GOOD TEEN COMEDY FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE THOSE KIND OF MOVIES. IT'S WORTH OWNING. FOLLOWED BY BILL & TED'S BOGUS JOURNEY.
