Movie Reviews of Big Jim McLain

Movie Review: More Accurate than Detractors Would Like
Summary: 5 Stars

I have always viewed this as an iconic movie. It largely a forgotten piece, but in reality both records in Russia (excuse me - fmr Soviet Union)and in America have shown that the Communists and their sympathizers were very active, if not ineffectual. Ineffectual does not make them a Non-Threat.

Now to the movie - it is a movie, so reality is stretched. But it is John Wayne and a fine story. I found it entertaining, fun and moved along nicely.

As for those that are Anti-everything (America & John Wayne, etc, etc.) take a chill pill. Most of us do not care about your petty thoughts, concerns and tirades.

Movie Review: Big Jim McLain
Summary: 5 Stars

John Wayne and James Arness are FBI men chasing Communists in Hawaii. The Duke falls in love with Nancy Olson along the way. Although this is in b/w, the beauty of our 50th state is still evident. The action takes place on the island of Oahu. I'd say one of the Duke's better ones.

Movie Review: Perfect condition...
Summary: 5 Stars

Came wrapped, perfect condition, no flaws.... just like I bought it from the store!
As for the movie itself... who DOESNT love the Duke?

Movie Review: Big Jim McLain
Summary: 5 Stars

An interesting film envolving John Wayne and James Arness. A must buy for fans of the american legend.

Movie Review: "If You are a John Wayne Fan"
Summary: 4 Stars

If you take this movie seriously and evaluate Wayne's actions as pro-American or un-American, you may not like it, or even find it confusing. In a like fashion, check out the Wayne movie "Green Berets". Viet Nam Vets have been known to kick out their TV's when watching it because it made Viet Nam into a patriotic adventure.

I sincerely respect people who challange the "reality" of some of Wayne's movies... especially when he interjects his politics. I think the whole world knows by now that John Wayne made Reagan look like a pinko.

Being an absolute Wayne fanatic, I simply view "Green Berets" as having to do with a fictional war in a far off place. I don't hear "Viet Nam"....AND when I watch "McLain"..I view Big Jim as battling a bunch of "Bad Guys" and tune out the "Commie" business. Doing this allows me to simply enjoy Wayne do his thing. IF/When I want politics I watch the news channels.

So cool it everybody and enjoy the biggest "movie star" in history (who turned himself into a pretty fair actor).
