Movie Review: Really good

this movie is really, really awesome. it's about a overprotective brother, Benny (Aidan Quinn) and his mentally ill sister, Joon (Mary Stuart Masterson). one night Benny takes Joon to his Poker game with the guys, Joon ends up playing, loses and gets Sam, a oddball excellently played by Johnny Depp. Benny decides to keep Sam after he cleans the house and after a while, Sam falls in love with Joon, and Benny discovers Sam's hidden talents for physical comedy.Movie Review: Raisins are really humiliated grapes

This is a very sweet movie. Benny (Aidan Quinn) lives with his sister Joon (Mary Stuart Masterson), who is mentally ill. One day Joon loses at poker, and *surprise* wins Sam (Johnny Depp) a quirky wanderer who changes both of their lives forever. Great for those who have a taste for bizarre humor, and also wonderful for those obsessive Depp fans. This movie, all though it will make you laugh out loud, will also touch you. And the music is a lot of fun!Movie Review: Depp wasn't nominated?

Out of all of Depp's powerful performances this is as good as it gets. This film and Edward Scissorhands proves that so much of acting can be potrayed in the demeanor and face as well as the lines. Depp plays Sam so well after you watch the film you can see no one but Depp playing him. I heard that his whole audition consisted of the park/hat scene and he won them over as well as me. Depp fan or no, this movie should be in everyone's collection.Movie Review: This is an absolutely wonderful movie!

Johnny Depp is a wonderful character actor, with such a wide range of ability. This is, hands down, the best movie he has ever made. I loved him as Capt. Jack Sparrow, and he was fantastic in The Secret Window, as well as his many other roles, but he is just phenomenal as Sam, a quirky young man who falls in love with a mentally ill young woman. He brought such warmth and humor to the role. I can't see anyone else playing sam.Movie Review: LOVED IT!!!!

I LOVE this movie. It is one of my favorites. When I first heard of it I thought it was going to be corny and just another boring movie. But I couldn't have been more wrong. The charactors fit so well together. Johnny Depp, as usual, is amazing as Sam. And the people who play Benny and Joon, Mary Stuart Masterson and Aiden Quinn, did a superb job. I think it is absolutly worth buying. I watch it over and over again.
