Movie Review: WATCH THIS FILM
Summary: 5 Stars
This is a noble and refreshing attempt to give a different perspective - it promotes life and love without the saccharine Hollywood gloss. It is so detailed it takes a couple of watches (at least) to really get everything you can from it but it is clear from a first viewing that this first time director has an immense talent. The acting is superb and understated. Set in a bustling New York and shot in such away that you almost feel you are pounding the pavements along with the characters this really is an experience you don't get with a blockbuster.
Having won awards over big budget blockbusters no film has earned its place more than Bella and no film can possibly deserve to be there more. Watch this film - and not just once - if nothing else it will make you think and it might even make you act and react in a positive way to some of life's big questions and life's littlest people. It would be amazing if it went on general release in the UK until then I recommend it to all those across the pond. Enjoy!
Movie Review: Unbelievable performance

Eduardo Verastegui, the lead actor of Bella, won MovieGuides Best Actor Award and the film won the Best picture award because the story and the performances were incredible. The story is one of the most powerful i have ever seen and the lead actors (Eduardo Verastegui and Tammy Blanchard) did an unbelievable job portraying these complex and beautiful characters. I believe that the directing and cinematography are two of the reasons Bella won the Peoples Choice Award and the Smithsonian Institutes Legacy Award.
This is the type of film that slowly gets into your heart and mind and lives with you forever. I do not want to tell too much about the story line because the power of the movie is in the unexpected twists and turns, especially the suprise ending.
This little film has a big heart and it has changed the lives of many people, including mine. There are alot of great films but not all of them move people to tears, make them laugh and cause them to think about what is important in life.
Movie Review: What a Movie Should Be

I cannot say enough about how much I love this movie. It is a great story, beautifully written and well acted. It is so genuine and insightful in its ability to capture the human spirit and human dignity amidst the pain and suffering life can so often bring. It is funny, witty, touching and emotional. The characters and the story grab you right away. You find yourself so easily drawn in because the movie does such a great job of just describing life. And it is a good movie about goodness while leaving out all the garbage that most movies can't seem to do without. There is no sexual innuendo, bad jokes or poor taste and I don't think there's even a swear word in the whole movie. In all of this, Bella accomplishes something that most movies never do. I will not give away any of the plot as others have written about the story. I only want to encourage you to watch this movie. And do check out the special features - there is some interesting stuff there. I hope Metanoia Films makes more movies like this.Movie Review: Magnificent

Bella is a story of two ordinary people whose hearts have been wounded by life, circumstances, and disappointments. They are from very different backgrounds. She is from a home filled with sorrow, sadness and regret. She had few advantages in life. He is from a home filled with love and joy, and had many advantages - yet his heart is shut off from his life.
The story is about what happens when one broken hearted person takes the time to care about and for another person's broken heart. Not only does the heart of the one in need begin to heal, the heart of the hero begins to heal as well.
I do not want to give away details of the movie (I like to watch movies without knowing what will happen next). It is not difficult to predict the story line of this film, but it is beautiful to watch it unfold.
It is rare to find a movie that is truly family friendly today (teenage and up, there is one scene younger children should not see) - this one is just that.
Movie Review: Magic

Simple, yet intricate....joy. "Bella" is a little movie you might not have heard of yet. Released in theatres, it didn't get a lot of media time. Never made it to my hometown. I immediately put it in my Netflix queue and eagerly watched the release date inch closer.
Saturday night. Coca Cola on ice. Eagerly awaited movie on the DVD player. Close to heaven...but not quite there yet!
90 minutes later, I have a grin on my face and tears in my eyes and the unmistakable impression that I have just watched something perfect.
Jose, a soccer-star-turned-chef at his brother's restaurant....Nina, the just-fired-surprisingly-pregnant waitress from the same restaurant Jose could have let Nina walk away, but chooses to follow her....and there ensues the kind of gentle knowing that only magic allows to happen.
Hauntingly beautiful, sparingly sweet. A movie for everyone who needs a little "special" in their lives. You won't be the same when you've finished watching this one.
