Movie Review: Fine Feel-Good Flick Worth Every Second

Sweet, sentimental, intelligently written and shot, at times hilarious movie about community, history, neighborhood, family, and film-making. Jack Black is thankfully understated, Mos Def is truly talented to a level I hadn't noticed before, Mia Farrow is funny and nuanced, and Danny Glover is solid as always. Somehow largely overlooked, but if you are thinking about a quiet little movie to watch some night or Sunday afternoon, this one absolutely will not disappoint, and just may become one of your all-time favorites.Movie Review: Very Fun and Silly

jack black carries this film. the (thin) plot is part little rascals, part beverly hillbillies, part three's company, part saturday night live. he knows his comedy history well. no complex dialogue to drag him down. i'll swear i think they just secured the locations, turned on the cameras, and just let him wing it. i would love to see jack partner with christopher guest and company because it's obvious he's improvising a good bit of this. i'm amazed a movie like this can still get made.Movie Review: Hilarious! Not many people have heard of this movie, it didn't get big hype at the box office, but this is one of the best comedies I've seen. It's just so ridiculous. Jack Black is one of those actors I always like to watch. He makes me laugh so much. I don't even want to tell any of you what it's about, because if you just watch it for yourself, it is such a treat, not knowing what to expect going in. Please just watch it! I was so happy to have seen this movie. It's sort of a throw-back to that innocent, fun feeling of the 80's. I thought overall this movie had such a good heart and liked everything about it. Besides that, it was very funny. These days a movie has to be sexual, or violent, or dark to win critics and moviegoers. I'm not sure that this movie will be considered a classic, but I am glad I have seen it and I recommended it to many friends.Movie Review: Feel Good Movie

My expectation was that this was going to be a silly little Jack Black movie (not a bad thing at all) based off of the previews I had seen on television. What a nice surprise that it turned out to have great story line, was funny, sad, and very entertaining. I watched the movie with my husband and 11 year old son and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.
There is something for everyone.
