Movie Reviews of Bambi IIMovie Review: Breathtaking Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a sucker for Disney movies. Although, Direct to Vidio sequals are usually under rated and arent very good. Well, for Bambi, this statement is...
WRONG! My gosh, this movie was breathtaking on so many levels. For one, the backgrounds were absolutly amazing, and the colors seemed so much brighter than the origenal. Although I am very dissapointed about Disney converting to Computers for some time (but they have left that choice and gone back to also using 2D, phew :)) the use of computer coloring and animation was quite useful and beautiful in this film. The snowflakes in the very beginning move very smoothly and look, how you say, real to a certain extent.
The songs in this movie are not all Scores or smooth songs, but they have very inpirational lyrics, and wonderful flowing music, such as my personal favorite "There is Life" which talks about how everything on this earth seems to have a soul inside of it, and even though you can't see it, their souls are there, which forshadows Bambis (Spoiler) dream about his mother, and when she tells him "Even when you can't see me, I'm here".
There was one scene that made me quiver when I was alone. The scene when Bambi hears his "Mothers" voice. Which brings man. They captured the voice so well, how its slightly haunting him.
Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest is a must see for Disney lovers, adults and children alike. Its got a "Likeabiliy factor". And I can't stop watching it. :) I do believe this can go down as a Disney Classic.
Movie Review: a successful midquel Summary: 5 Stars
I was surprised that *Bambi II* turned out better than I had expected. It was a good "midquel". In fact, this was probably the first midquel I had even heard/seen.
*Bambi II* takes place right after the scary moment when Bambi gets himself in trouble. His mother was able to get him out of the situation. Scared and confused, Bambi takes off in a run. After a while, Bambi looks back and calls out for his mother repeatedly. Soon, his father, the Great Prince, informs him that his mother will no longer be coming back.
The Great Prince must look after Bambi. However, the Great Prince doesn't feel that it is fitting for him to raise Bambi. He consults the wise owl to seek a surrogate mother.
Bambi is lanky and naive. However, with the help of his friends, Thumper and Flower, he develops some of his skills and self-confidence. He does this to impress his father. The Great Prince can't help but notice and adore his son.
*Bambi II* is a wonderful movie. The best part for me was seeing everyone scaring off each other with "grr!". The "grr!" was started by Bambi and his 2 friends. Just simply adorable!
As always, this Disney film is filled with menacing characters. The characters put Bambi to the test to see if he'll be the next Great Prince. Rest assured that there are more good than bad...such as romance...well, at least, some flirting and blushing.
Simply an enjoyable movie that Disney does best.
Movie Review: Bravo to all involved! Summary: 5 Stars
Watch original Bambi to the point where he walks off with the stag into the snow, then pop in this movie, and then rejoin orginal Bambi in the spring. Custom-made intermissions for a 2 hour and 15 minutes or so viewing experience. The original Bambi is just about perfect, but in fact the bursting through of spring and Bambi cleaning his first antlers has always seemed a little abrupt after the powerful scene that proceeds it. Original Bambi as a character was always a bit bland when compared to Thumper, too--this movie adds layers and texture to Bambi himself and makes it truly his story. The makers of Bambi II have blended in plenty of the original's background music, and that helps set the tone and make the two blend together. This movie looks well enough--Bambi matches fairly well, though Thumper is a bit flat--but it would be asking too much for any computer artist to match the oil paintings and hand-drawn animation of the orginal. Don't get me wrong--this looks great, and the animation is top notch, but having the original first and last with this in the middle lets the beauty of the original be the last image in your mind, while the strength of this new story lends depth and richness to the tale. A really, really excellent job by the writers, the animators, the composers, the voice actors, and everyone else involved. This is a truly fitting and worthy addition to Bambi lore.
Movie Review: One of the best second parts ever released by Disney Summary: 5 Stars
With time I have become wary of any Part II movies. But "Bambi II" threw that preconceived notion out the window! Indeed Disney did a great job with the follow-up story, succeeding at maintaining the spirit of the original story alive and pushing it into the next stage of the life of the deer we learned to love in our childhood.
In "Bambi II", after the death of his mother, Bambi lives with his father (The Great Prince) whom at first is blind to the needs of his youngster and obsessed with making sure he turns out to be a good prince. Their relationship evolves and the story delivers a healthy balance of adventure, joy and thrills all the way to the end. The result is a healthy bond that forms between the two, which lies at the heart of the lesson one can learn from the movie.
The music doesn't overwhelm the animated performances (the way other follow-up Disney movies have done) and the dialog keeps you engaged and interested all through the movie. The characters continue to be as lovable and the landscapes are overwhelmingly beautiful. All in all, the movie is a success at preserving the spirit of the original story and definitely one of the best second parts ever released by Disney.
Movie Review: I am utterly SPEECHLES! Shockingly top-notch Bambi sequel! Summary: 5 Stars
I don't know what to say... Disney has outdone themselves this time with their masterpeice production of Bambi II! I was surprisingly impressed with it's quality and story. As most of us know, a wide number of direct-to-video Disney sequels have been somewhat poor regarding storyline, plot, and and overall appeal; But Bambi II is a high exception. Instead of a competely different story plot, Bambi II expounds deeper on what the first Bambi started to implement on and that is the relationship and life of Bambi and his father immediately after the death of Bambi's mother. It shows Bambi trying to cope with the changes of having his father raise him and it beautifully and very finely exhibits the gradual transaction of Bambi from a small fawn into the maturity of his father as Prince of the forest. NO WORDS can explain the power of the final climax - I almost started to cry. Frankly, I havn't felt this enthralled about a Disney animated film since The Lion King.
I highly recommend Bambi II for the entire family (yes, that includes adults and teens and I'm 19 by the way) for it's high production standards, a well-thought and edifying storyline, blissful animation, and a striking climax!
