Movie Reviews of Baltazar's Feasts or The Night with Stalin/ Piry Valtasara ili noch so StalinymMovie Review: Excellent! Summary: 5 Stars
I was so happy to see that this wonderful movie has finally been released on DVD! I saw it many years ago at the International Chicago film festival. The movie left a lasting impression on me. This is one of the best movies about Stalinism. What makes it so remarkable is that the movie described everyday events in 1930's Russia but the depth with which the totalitarian desease became part of everyday existence was really appaling. Other great movies on the same subject are 'Burnt by the Sun' and 'Inner Circle' (unexplicably not on DVD).
