Movie Review: Larsson and Ziesak are superb!
Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this DVD not because of the depth of Bach's Christian belief, nor because of the fact that Herbert Blomstedt shares that belief.
I simply love to hear the singing of Anna Larsson and Ruth Ziesak.
But after listening to the entire performance, and reveling in the beauty of Larsson's contralto and Ziesak's soprano, I also see what others meant by the fulfilling sound of Bach's music as praise to God. It's good to have such highly competent performers do justice to Bach's praise of God, and it is appropriate to have the music so lovingly interpreted by Herbert Blomstedt.
