Movie Review: Classic

I was greatly pained when I read one review that stated that Rosalind Russell is not Auntie Mame - especially since she was the original Auntie Mame on Broadway. But that's beside the point. All I can say is that I saw this movie several years ago, and fell in love with it. Its wit, drama, and character show what a movie should be - which by the way the Lucille Ball version lacked. If I could go back in time to see this performed by Rosalind Russell on Broadway, I would do it in an instant. After reading through many of the reviews of this marvelous movie I could not help but be dismayed at the (few) fools that put this gem down. This movie is a classic and if you have not been fortunate enough to see it I strongly recommend that you do so without delay. As for the morons that give this movie anything but 5 stars I wish them to have the braces on their brains loosened a little. And while they're at it, maybe they could actually read some of those "decorative" books they have lying around collecting dust. Indeed!Movie Review: Auntie Mame

This is such a great movie on so many levels. The sets are spectacular, the characters are so wonderful, and I still remember the costumes from the first time I saw the movie as a kid. This is my favorite Rosalind Russell movie and one of my favorite movies of all time. If you want a good laugh, a good cry and want to be entertained, this is the movie for you. We watched this over Thanksgiving weekend and all of the relatives enjoyed it, from teenagers to grandparents. A great addition to the classic movie buff's collection.Movie Review: A Wonderful Movie

Auntie Mame is a classic and has been a favourite of mine for more years than I'd like to admit. Rosalind Russell is at the top of her game in this one. This is the movie that I play whenever I feel down in the dumps and need something to lift me up and put a smile on my face. I highly recommend Auntie Mame to everyone - no matter what your age - it's a wonderful experience! By the way, as much as I Love Lucy, forget the musical version of Mame with Lucille Ball - it can't compare to the original with Rosalind Russell!Movie Review: Beautiful and Fun - Not Violent, which is very rare nowadays

Being a visual artist, images in a film is important to me. The most impressive in this film is the costumes Auntie Mame is wearing. How beautiful and creative that fashion is! The second impressive is the interior design of Auntie Mame's house. Just viewing her clothing and house alone entertains me in a great deal.
I believe other reviewers can tell you how funny the story is and how adorable Auntie Mame's character is. I omit that part of review in order to avoid the repetitiveness of how fun this film is.
