An unusual deathbed flashback approach to the life of one of history's greats, played superbly by the inimitable Peter O'Toole and a cast of Europeans and Tunisians that make it easy to believe you're a fly on the wall in Caesar's (Octavius) Rome. Accurately reflects the daily life of the movers and shakers of the empire, and delves intimately into the innermost workings of the man who "played as best he could the role he was given in this play called life." A definite must see, and I'm glad I purchased it so I can watch it again sometime.Movie Review: I,Claudius

This is the best history of the decline of the Roman Empire that I have ever seen.It is history but told as a fascinating story that shows family relationships as well as political intrigues.I had read the book before and this remains absolutely true to the text. The acting is suberb. I saw this as a series on TV years ago and it was such a pleasure to see it again - and to enjoy it just as much.Movie Review: AUGUSTUS Great performance by peter o'toole

Great movie. Very entertaining. Certainly lacking in historical accuracies. What movie does? Buy it! Enjoy it! And THEN read up on the biography channel online.. ;-)
