Movie Reviews of Assassination TangoMovie Review: "Remember, tomorrow is promised to no one" Summary: 3 Stars
In ASSASSINATION TANGO Robert Duvall plays an assassin sent to Argentina to kill a general, but when his assignment is delayed, he meets a gorgeous tango dancer (Duvall's real-life love, Luciana Pedraza) and becomes enraptured with that world. Unfortunately this film starts off slow and really doesn't get off the ground at all. There are several holes in the plot and many questions left unanswered. Robert Duvall's acting is good, but the story lacks substance. If it weren't for the beautiful scenery of Buenos Aires and the scenes of tango dancing this DVD would not be worth watching. Generally I enjoy Robert Duvall's films, but this one fell short of my expectations. 2.5 stars.
Movie Review: Assasinated Tango Summary: 3 Stars
This film illustrates Duvall's passion for and interest in Dancing.
He has (briefly) danced before in film but here Tango is to the fore.
Forget the "hit-man" plot it's not worth the trouble and how he could
walk away from that woman (a great Tango dancer aswellas a looker)
is beyond me. See it ONLY for some tango scenes. N.B. the
young girl showing Duvall how to hook and kick.
Unless you are (very) keen on tango - avoid.
Movie Review: Weak movie, great music Summary: 3 Stars
The plot and the script are not this movie's strong points. But the music is wonderful and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who likes Argentine tango. If your focus is the music rather than the dancing, you might want to consider getting the soundtrack CD, which is excellent.
Movie Review: Assasanation Tango Summary: 3 Stars
Helps us to learn the Tango, better - but story line same ugly 'mafia-style' game being played everyday.
Movie Review: Buy it for tango, not plot Summary: 3 Stars
The tango scenes were worth it. The plot dragged.
