Movie Review: What are you all thinking?
Summary: 5 Stars
Let me guess, you all liked that burning hunk of pig snout called Deep Impact more? Please. Lemme dispute some stuff first: The NASA guys KNOW the world knows about the ASTEROIDS that hit New York, THE WORLD DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT THE METEOR. Only one person has identified the meteor, and although the world gets alerted to it (you'll see why) they coudln't know until it was too late. Second of all, the NASA guys perform the tests on the drillers because they don't want to use the drillers, Thorton (Truman) pushes them to use Bruce's team. There then now, I liked this movie because, simply, it's a good disaster flick with impressive actors. You sympathize with the drillers because you meet their families, friends, etc. Unlike in Deep Impact in which the astronauts are just nameless faces we see twice. Rent the DVD, Rent the VHS, Buy the Criterian Collection. Just don't let the bad reviews scare you away from this excellent movie.Movie Review: A Must Buy For Everyone

Quite simply the best film ever made. The acting was brilliant apart from the cheesy Russian accent. There are alot of scenes that are very rememberable in Armageddon, such as the Meteor storm at the start which had the amazing shot of an asteroid crashing through 3 sky scrapers in a row. The part where Bruce Willis had the flashback of his daughters life when he detonated the bomb was very moving. There were a few faults in the story line such as when they sling shotted round the moon, because you wouldn't feel G-force in space and also when the shuttle Independence crashes it catches fire but there is no oxygen in space to fuel the fire. Apart from those few nit-picking points, the film was faultless and I loved it. Steve Buscemi was also great by adding alot of one-liners to keep you laughing through the film. If you ever get a DVD rom, make sure this film is at the top of your list.Movie Review: Wide Screen Stinks

I love this movie, I have the VHS tape and just bought the DVD, well with Wide Screen about 6inches of the movie was blacked out on top and bottom,3inches on top and bottom, this is a waste since I only have a 20 inch tv, most wide screen movies cut a inch or 2 of the top and bottom, this was a ripp off, who really cares about wide screen,it's just a gimmick to make more money when they re release a new version and some add a disc and charge you extra money for behind the scenes footage, you don't need a extra disc for that,like the new Die Hard Collection, about 30 bucks for more behind the scenes stuff, Armageddon is my favorite movie, but the wide screen version is a rip off, but this movie is better than deep impact,I hate wide screen dvds, why can't we have a choice, like put it on the other side of the same disc, the movie industry is just sucking more money out of the movies fans.....Movie Review: fun......plain and simple......fun

Intelligent? Believable? Well no, not really. Sure a giant asteroid could slam into the Earth and kill us all, but do I think it is possible that NASA would take a group of civilians up in space land and drill into it? Of course not. But you know what, this movie is fun. Isn't that what movies are for? Aren't they supposed to be fun? This is a summer time popcorn flick. You want a serious film wait for Christmas time. The cast is great. Bruce plays Harry Stamper, the head of a drilling crew that gets sent into space to save the word. Every performace was wonderful and of course any movie with Steve Buscemi riding a nuclear warhead can't be all bad. Bottom line in this movie is fun. Its a Jerry Burkheimer film so you know it is going to be predictable, but you also know you are in for over the top action. So grab a bag of popcorn, take off your shoes, sit back and enjoy.Movie Review: Wide Screen Stinks
