Movie Reviews of AntzMovie Review: Lordage Animation Summary: 5 Stars
The only reason why I watched this movie was because the immortal Sylvester Stallone lended his voice to a somewhat 'star-studded' cast. From Woody Allen to Jennifer Lopez, I was only interested in the godliness. Stallone plays the big, strong ant who wants to be a worker and not a soldier. Good choice. If Stallone's ant had gone to battle, he may not have made it. Then I would have been extremely distressed. They showed Woody Allen's and Sharon Stone's ants way too much leaving the real talent out of this picture, Stallone. This is really a film that kids can enjoy, but Stallone fans may be disappointed that you can't hear the immortal voice too much.
Movie Review: "Antz" is undoubtedly superior to "A Bug's Life." Summary: 5 Stars
My first thought after renting and watching Antz was, I wish I had seen this at the theater rather than A Bug's Life. Antz has realistic animation with life in it. The characters are funny and a lot more interesting. It has a good story, and is versatile in its scenery, environments, and character development. I also like that the insects all had six legs. I prefer my antz anatomically correct. A Bug's Life was too unoriginal, uninteresting, and too cute. Antz is a great movie for all ages, and I strongly reccomend it. (And buy the DVD, not the tape. It is much more clear, colorful, and is full of enjoyable extra features.)
Movie Review: Amazing technical achievement Summary: 5 Stars
What a great movie. The texture and color of this film are spectacular. I felt myself getting lost in the animation, at times feeling that it was puppets or actors instead of animation. There of course is a lot of comparisons being made about Antz & A Bugs Life. The best way to put it is: Antz=Movie ABL=Cartoon This is of course simplified, but it is really to the point. From what I understand the video release is pretty poor quality. The nature of video in general makes for poor quality. The DVD on the otherhand would make an excellent addition to anybodies collection.
Movie Review: Jim Haven Summary: 5 Stars
While I found this movie epic, well written and animated, there are def mature subjects that some kids may not be able to understand. That said, this has a PG rating, meaning Parental Guidence in reccomended. Comparing it to A Bugs Life, Rated G doesn't make any sense, other than if you are talking strictly animation, and even then they both accomplish what they set out to do according to their target audience.
This is a Great Film and something that should be socially ranked right up there with Watership Down.
Movie Review: Totally marvelous! Remarkable! Summary: 5 Stars
"ANTZ" is without a doubt, the most amazing animated film ever! I consider this a must! Add this to your collection of computer-animated films: Toy Story, Antz, etc. I most particularly like the opening credits theme music, the Ants vs. Termites scene, and the Bar Dance! And the WATER DROP!! WHOO! I looked at the motion rendering and the directors told us that it looks like Z's trapped inside EPCOT. Look at the Basics of Animation segment, and you'll find out for yourself. Man, that is remarkable!
